'09 AZ DT Corey Adams (Arizona State Signee)

If he visits, you guys have a chance. OSU has his attention, but SC is definitely the leader in the clubhouse. You'll have to have something that stands out for him to move out to the Midwest for the next four years of his life.
A lot of Ohio State "insiders" feel that the Buckeyes lead because (1) Corey is a fan of the Buckeyes, and (2) Corey's father is from Massillon, Ohio. However, I tend to agree with you, and feel that location will be the biggest factor in his decision (as it is with most kids). FWIW, I do think that Adams will make an official visit to Columbus, but that OSU will once again lose a close battle to USC. Pennsylvania DL Tyron Ezell is the more likely possibility to end up in the Buckeyes' class of 2009.

a sidebar future factor on OOS recruits is the escalation of plane tickets due to fuel--gonna make it tougher for Mama & Papa to see their kids play..that said if OSU ever had a shot at a long distance kid it is the one that's Dad is a big tOSU fan....

Football Recruiting News

Corey has offers from Nebraska, Ohio State, Florida, Michigan, Arizona, Arizona State, Stanford, USC and others.

“Arizona Junior Day’s was good I liked how they play defense.” said Adams, “The Arizona coaches understand they need to do better and I have an opportunity to play early.”

“I like Arizona’s coaching staff and their facilities are nice.” he said

“I use to hear from USC coaches when they were able to call recruits. I have not heard from them since. I need to contact them.” said Adams

“Arizona State Junior Day’s was cool. Me and a friend went there. We saw Arizona State’s facilities and the academic staff. They are in the process to build a new practice field and weight room.” he said

“I have not heard from Nebraska much and I haven’t called their coaches. Nebraska is known for their defense.” said Adams

“I’m going to narrow it down pretty soon to five or six schools. I will probably plan my officials from that list. I’m looking for the total package a good education and an opportunity to play early. I’m starting to look at depth charts and see where I can come in and play.” he said

“Last year I played defensive line, this year I will be moved to defensive end. I did play some defensive end in middle school.” said Adams

“It changes day to day if I want to stay close to home. I don’t have any favorites now.” he said

“Coaches said they like my presents on the field put pressure to the quarterback.”

He never attended Massillon. He dreamed of playing for the Tigers, but his family moved to Phoenix after he graduated from junior high. Check out page 9, post #127. An article is posted that explains the connection to OSU & Massillon.

That doesn't sound too positive as it relates to OSU. I'm not saying he couldn't play early, but the depth chart is pretty deep on the DL.

With the way we basically rotate everyone on the 2 deep, and a little beyond, I wouldnt see the depth as a horrible thing. And if youre good enough (Cam), you'll play. Dont know if it was too good that we werent even mentioned in the article, but that was prbably bc he hasnt visited. After I saw the pictures of this kid, who looks like a NFL'er, I wanted him to be a part of this class so bad. The line in 2 years time would be so nasty. Heyward, Goebel, Mobley, Simon, Killer off the edge, Adams, Rowell, and plenty of others.

Lets get him in and let JT work his magic!!

Totally agree! This guy has to be a high priority, if not highest, given our needs with possible exception of RB. Just get him to Columbus and then we'll see what happens.
