'08 WV OL Josh Jenkins (West Virginia Signee)

BG $

4/24

By BK...Jenkins is still a soft commit to WVU but OSU has made up ground. FSU and UF are also in the picture.

I just don't think Jenkins is ready to tell WVU fans he is leaving the state...yet. Time will tell...

Strutting their stuff at the combine
WVU-bound Jenkins sits this one out while coaches, scouts look for gems

By Jeff Rider
Staff writer
Between his work in the trenches on Friday nights and his performance in the combines, Jenkins showed enough to West Virginia University coaches to garner a full scholarship offer. He has already signed with the Mountaineers, opting to stay closer to home instead of accepting offers from Notre Dame or Penn State.

While the departure of WVU line coach Rick Trickett caused him to ?sway a little bit,? Jenkins said he remains committed to West Virginia.

His focus, though, is on his senior season with the Big Reds and winning a second straight Class AAA championship.

?Right now, things are going good,? Jenkins said. ?We were in the weight room the week after the state championship game. All we do is work out. It?s great. We have great coaches and a great football team. We?re going to be a family this year, that?s the biggest thing.

?We don?t want what happened to Morgantown, in a sense, happen to us. They were all playing as individuals. I heard them saying, ?We?re not a team.? I don?t want that on my team. I want our team to be great. I want our team to be one. For us to win it our junior year and not win it our senior year, that?d be pretty hurtful. So we?re going to give it all we got.?
