Interested to hear grad's take when he gets back...

No idea how I missed this...sorry.

He is on the opposite end of the state so Im not too familiar with him...I do know the high school is known for being loaded with athletes, but not winning much.

I do know there are some doubts about his offer list...

Basically, every major Division I school has offered him except Miami, Texas and Southern Cal," Floyd said.

Floyd said he will take unofficial visits to Florida, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Auburn, Alabama and Georgia in coming weeks. He may also take a look at South Carolina.

"He just wants to expose himself to as many campuses as possible, to see what's out there," Floyd said. "He wants to get a first-hand look at a lot of places to help him make a final decision."

I wonder how close he is to his cousin Johnathan Joseph. Being less than 2 hours away could play some small role in his recruitment. Although I thought OSU might be able to do a little something recruiting Clifton Geathers because his brother was on the Bengals and I don't think he gave anyone outside the south much of a look at all.

He would have never passed admissions, did not qualify his first year, and was extremely overrated in HS...

Offers Piling Up For Whitlock

By Phil Kornblut
ATH Charles Whitlock (5-11 170) of Chester plans to cut his list after he makes summer visits according to his coach Victor Floyd. "He was supposed to visit Florida last week but rescheduled that for June," Floyd said. "He's going to Alabama this week. He's also going to visit Virginia Tech, Auburn, Georgia, Clemson and South Carolina. He doesn't have a favorite. He's doing his research on the schools." Floyd said the list of head coaches to come thru the school this spring included Steve Spurrier, Tommy Bowden, Phillip Fulmer and Nick Saban. Whitlock's offer lis now is USCarolina, Clemson, Florida, Marshall, Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, LSU, Oklahoma, Penn State, Mississippi State, Illinois and Tennessee. While most schools are recruiting Whitlock simply as an athlete, Floyd said USC is recruiting him as a receiver, and Illinois is recruiting him as a quarterback.

Whitlock To Visit Hokies

By Phil Kornblut
ATH Charles Whitlock (5-11 175) of Chester will make an unofficial visit to Virginia Tech Friday. He attended a camp at Mississippi State last week and has no other camps planned. He also plans to visit USC and Clemson this summer, and probably will visit Georgia and Auburn as well. Whitlock said he has not narrowed his list and does not have favorites. He said he hears a lot from USC and Clemson and has no preference between them. Among his other offers are Kentucky, Alabama, North Carolina, LSU, Penn State, Oklahoma, Illinois and Tennessee. Whitlock said he has no idea when he'll make a decision.

From the UGA site...visited Alabama and Mississippi State last weekend. Will visit UGA next month. No mention of OSU.

At this point, with some offered DBs off the board, the staff seems to like the three in-state options at CB better than anything they have seen outside the state. Same can be said for the safeties on their board...they are content to ride out McCarthy rather than pushing hard for a kid like EJ Woods.
