The thing I hope Cordale (and other Ohio stars) keep in mind while they go through the recruitment process is their life after football -- and what playing at tOSU offers them in their later years compared to playing for an out-of-state school.
No state offers a brighter future to its university's star football players than Ohio. Just look at Archie, Herbie, Eddie, Joey G., Chris Spielman, Jim Lachey etc. etc. etc. -- they all return to Ohio after their playing days are done and are able to make great lives for themselves and their families thanks to the opportunities afforded them by loyal Buckeye fans. Business and community leaders are proud to be associated with former Buckeyes, and the doors of opportunity always swing wide open.
To contrast, will Fred Davis be a big shot in Los Angeles after he leaves USC? Will Ben Martin become the toast of Knoxville Tennessee after he hangs up his pads? Will Mario Manningham want to raise his family in Detroit/AA when his playing days are over?
I think that Ted Ginn Sr. understands this better than anyone and will always steer his best players toward Columbus. Not simply because he loves JT or because his own son attended tOSU, but because he knows that football glory always ends at some point. And when it does, former players will need the doors of economic opportunity to be open to them. TG Sr. knows that for a rich, rewarding life after football, there's no place like home.
Take your visits, Cordale, and enjoy all the attention. But when it comes time to decide, earn your football glory in Ohio Stadium. It's a decision you'll never regret.
