'08 OH TE/DE Kevin Koger (Michigan signee)

Is he being recruited as a TE or DE? If it is the former, is he a better prospect than Brandon Moore? If the latter, Nathan Williams?

Its surprising that he has been offered before the other two.

OSU has told him he could play either spot...and the fact that he has an offer at this point and Moore and Williams do not speaks volumes. I don't think Moore will ever get an offer from OSU. Williams needs a great showing at camp, but I still see him as a longshot, given the small number this class projects at. I don't think Moore would be getting an offer even if this class numbered 25. Just my feeling about the situation.

Koger is a physcial specimen from what I understand...looking forward to seeing some film.

I graduated from Toledo Whitmer in 2001 and still live in the area and have seen kevin play quite a few times.

I feel he projects better at tight end, he has great leaping ability, good speed and his hands are very strong for a kid his size. I watched him against Central Catholic (Dane's High school) and he really stretched the field vertically well and made several tough catches in double coverage running right up the seam of the defense.

I look forward to watching him this year and will report any news I hear. Btw, he is also pretty good at basketball, quite agile. Not OSU good but can definantly play....overall just an athlete and physical freak for his age.

Whitmer tight end Kevin Koger makes a touchdown catch against Woodward. The 6-4, 220-pound junior, who has already received a scholarship offer from the University of Toledo, has 13 receptions for a team-high 230 yards and three TDs. As a defensive end, he has 23 tackles.

From GBW...interview with Kevin where he says Michigan and Ohio State have both offered. He says his decision will come down to those two schools.

Kevin Koger prefers OSU according to a Whitmer HS alumnus that I spoke with today. My source also said Kevin is very smart meaning he a very good student. His intelligence should guide him to select Ohio State to play football. :osu:

Anyways i havent seen Kevin play yet but this up and coming season i plan on atleast making a couple games. Ive heard nothing but good things about him. And its nice to see OSU in on a Whitmer kid they havent since BJ Barre.

I think Koger is the kind of recruit you get on campus then find a position for later...if TE is where he is needed, he will play there. If DE is where he is needed or can excel, then he will play there. Those kinds of decision are made after a kid starts working out with the team.
