Coach Matta and staff were in attendence this past weekend to watch Roe play at the King James Classic. Roe and Kosta Koufos have developed a good friendship and Roe stated it would be great to play at the same school at the next level. In this update, Roe lists Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina, Duke, UConn, Tennessee and OSU as schools of interest. Ohio State has been to his school to visit and has been to his open gyms. Roe feels OSU is close to offering at this point in the process.

Exactally, if Roe could develop a jumper from 15-18 foot, he could be a dominant PF to go along with Mullens.

I agree that he may need the ability to knock down the mid range jumper in Matta's system, but his strength is in the paint. That is where he seperates himself from other prospects. Roe will be one to watch as the process goes along.

Great article on Roe and his rapid rise in the recruiting scene. UConn, Florida, Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois, Ohio State, Indiana and Tennessee have recently been in contact. His high school coach feels he could be the best to ever play at St. Eds. Roe is interested in tOSU but knows its early in the process.


My take: Sounds like a very mature kid who understands the recruiting world. At this point, he seems wide open.

Interview with Roe at the Spiece event this past weekend.......Michigan and Ohio State are his only offers at this point. Florida has been in contact. Reportedly will visit Florida, Ohio State, Illinois, Michigan State, Uconn and Michigan this summer. Is a close friend of football prospect Kyle Hubbard, where he verbals could be a factor in his decision.

Well Michigan seems to be onto Hubbard pretty hard, so that could be a bad thing for us.

It could be a factor, but I wouldn't read to much into his comments, he will be awhile before he makes a decision and after next season with the class we have coming in and hopefully the success we will have, we could see a ton of changes not only with Roe, but with numerous prospects.
