'08 OH OL Marc Stevens (Bowling Green Verbal)

Stevens 1st offer

Akron Zips offered Marc Stevens today. They have been following him since sophomore year and feel that he is on of the top OL in the state. This is differently first of many to offer.

He has been recently invited to Junior days at Michigan and Vanderbilt too.

From the Louisville site...Marc talks about visiting Louisville yesterday. He will visit Cincinnati and Miami (OH) today.

Poor guy, should have came to Miami yesterday as it was beautiful and all the girls here were out in there skimpy little outfits, now they are all bundled up in their jackets... stupid Ohio weather.

Marc Stevens
OG | 6'5" 290

Hometown: Lexington, OH
School: Lexington High School
Region: MidWest Status: Undeclared

Last Updated: 4/18/2007 Data provided by Scouts, Inc.
Scouts Grade: 71
Considering: 1-Ohio State , 2-Illinois , 3-Cincinnati , 4-Akron , 5-Bowling Green
Evaluation: Stevens displays versatility as he will line up at both guard and tackle in high school. In the long run we feel his best fit at the college level will be as a guard. He makes good initial contact. He does a good job of getting placement with his hands and can be tough to beat once he gets locked on. He flashes the ability to get into a defender, roll his hips, and derive power from his lower body. He moves his feet and can generate movement off the line of scrimmage in the run game. He does a good job of staying with blocks and displays some tenacity. While he displays the ability to keep good leverage and get push he will play tall at times and is not as effective. He does an adequate job of working up to the second level. When he has to work out his block is when he tends to raise up. He needs to keep working on the angles he takes to make a block in space. He does a solid job of pulling and making contact with his target. He is a solid pass blocker. He will use his hands to punch and try and keep a rusher in front of him. He does an adequate job of mirroring. He needs to maintain a better base as he will get base narrow and cross his feet over. He needs to keep working to stay low and move his feet. He can initially put himself in a good position, but can get careless in an attempt to stay with his man. Stevens is a prospect with upside. He has a good size and plays hard. He needs to keep developing his game but can develop into a solid starter and be a guy that can provide some depth with his versatility.

Just picked up Western Michigan offer yesterday

Marc received an offer from Ohio University today
That's really surprising. Does that mean the staff thinks they Jenkins is unlikely to come to OSU? How about Greg Shaw? On top of that, I think Mealer is a better prospect than Stevens. I feel really sad that he went scUM.
