By BN...Coach Johnson was at Glenville this week and met with Dawawn. Waiting on his test score to see if OSU will release the schollie they are holding. If not, he says he will likely accept the offer from Illinois.
also sounds like he may be the last piece of the puzzle to get a schollie depending on their success down the stretch with Pryor, jenkins, wells and Harris. He wants to be a Buckeye if the offer comes. If not, another Glenville kid lost to Zooker.
From the MSU site. Whitner can not take any visits until he gets his grades in order, which he has not yet. Ohio State, Michigan State, Illinois, West Virginia and Minnesota make up his top five.
I really hope he gets an offer. We really addressed our need on the d-line especially at tackle. We are going to be deep on the line and be able to rotate in alot of guys up there next year. Hopefully this will help get the pressure of the linebackers. It would be great to see Rowell and whitner inside playing next to eachother in the future. Anyway it goes best of luck to you Dawawn and your decision and hope you get a ship.
I have my doubt's to. But i would love to see him get an offer, he's an ohio kid and Ohio State is his dream school. If it doesn't work out looks like he will still stay in the Big Ten and go to Illinois.
With the report that Josh Jenkins is now going to WV this opens up a spot for Whitner. Im going to go out on a limb and say he gets his ship and commits to the bucks tommorrow. Hey crazier things have happened.
Without those test scores I dont see the staff offering. He could always join the Bucks at a later date when he does bring those scores up, but I doubt there are many scholarship offers left after tomorrows signing day.
Whats this i see on bucknuts. says whitner will be a buckeye. It's not a ship, is it a grayshirt for next year or is he going as a walk-on any info on this would be great.
