'08 NV PF Luke Babbitt (Nevada Verbal)

Bucky Katt;1347651; said:
Luke Babbitt is leading a 3-3 Nevada team in minutes played, scoring, AND rebounding. He's averaging 33 minutes, 15.3 points, and 7.8 rebounds, while shooting 44% from the floor, 38% from three, and 77% on his free throws.

Sure would look good as a Buckeye.
Yeh, and Angie Jolie would look good as Mrs. MaxBuck, but "ifs and buts, candy and nuts."

Well, at this point Babbitt is one of Matta's biggest recruiting losses if not the biggest (I consider a recruiting loss a failure to land a player that you had a reasonable chance at getting). Babbitt could've helped this OSU team greatly with his size & rebounding at the 4.

The kid is playing basketball at another university and we really need to get over it. I mean do people even think about him when they are watching an Ohio State basketball game. I know that I don't and I usually don't think him any other time either.

Babbitt says it was a difficult decision. The Western Athletic Conference's player of the year ranked ninth in the nation in scoring this past season, averaging 21.9 points per game.

Originally an Ohio State commit. Babbitt and Turner would have been a heck of a "one two punch".

Didn't follow him particularly, but guys in foursome follow Fresno St (WAC) and commented on how Babbitt was tearing it up. He was a great talent in the WAC, but not certain how well he would have done in the B10. Not a slam, just a musing......especially as a sophomore. It doesn't matter now, but he can see how he endures against the cream of the crop in the NBA. Hope he fares well, but he might have been better off developing under Thad, putting on some muscle and then lighting it up.
