I watched Junior in the Myrtle Beach Shootout Friday night...6'2" is an accurate measure but he looked a little thicker than 205...impressive frame.

He runs good routes, mostly digs and drags while I was able to watch, and accelerates well. He dropped one TD pass but it would have been an incredible catch in traffic and the safety made an aggressive play across his arms.

Good looking prospect, but I wasn't blown away...then again, it is 7-on-7 and Junior's game is physical contact.

I was most impressed by Hemmingway's physical part of his game than anything on film. He is pretty explosive as well but I was very impressed with his ability to break tackles and to get physical with the corners, so 7 on 7's may not be a good barometer of his skill. Thanks for the info though grad.

so 7 on 7's may not be a good barometer of his skill.

7-on-7 is a great barometer for determining what type of competitor he is, how he gets off the line, and how he catches the ball....basically, his athleticism. My issue with 7-on-7 is that too many teams worry about winning the games instead of getting better in what they actually do...when you see LBs take a drop step at the snap and start out at 7 yards deep, that is not football.

A more accurate statement on my part would have been that they probably aren't a good barometer of his overall skill. I agree that you can assess their athletic ability. 7 on 7's can be bad though because like you said, you will never see a defense on a Friday night do what they do at a 7 on 7. Not to mention that some schools will put all DB's out instead of LB's to just try and win.
