Sorry, I meant to include Brent as well...

SUMMARY:

I see the DL class ending with Martin, Thomas, Brent, Still and Jeremiah. That is just my gut feeling. I know some are going to throw a fit because I left Morgan and Barksdale off, but if we get either of them it will just make a stellar DL class all the better. If Morgan wants in, I think Jeremiah probably doesn't get an offer, although that really depends on his grades more than anything.

Any combo of 5 of those 7 will make me very happy.

Remember these recruits are in the power group, so some of these guys like Jermiah (if his grades come through) or Still could move to the O-line. Or maybe a guy like Thomas moves to TE etc. Tedd Ginn Jr and Gonzo were DB's coming in and Stan White was primarily thought of as a LB. I doubt we get all 7 of the kids you've mentioned above, however if the staff really wants a guy like Jeremiah, they won't limit themselves because of a Morgan verbal. Versatility

No one talks about recruits in terms of the three JT categories more than myself and the other members of the BPRT. That being said, I prefaced my Jeremiah comments by saying it is more dependent on his grades than anything else (i.e. who is a part of this class and who isn't). I am also on record as saying I think Still could end up at OT (as could any of Still, Morgan, Barksdale or Jeremiah).

Coatesville (Pa.) defensive end Derrick Morgan, the Keystone State's top overall prospect, made an official visit to Coral Gables this past weekend and came away impressed.

"The trip went very well," he said. "Overall, everything went as planned and I had a good time."

The 6-4, 260-pounder, the nation's eighth-ranked strongside defensive end prospect, does not have a leader and will continue with his visits next weekend, when he heads to State College, Pa., to check out Penn State. Morgan previously visited Georgia Tech and also is considering Ohio State.

I read where Miami had 30,000 fans at the game vs. UNC, compared to the PSU game at the Shoe, that has to look like a high school atmosphere.

I didnt realize Morgan was rated the top prospect in PA, that is pretty high praise considering some of the talent they have this year w/ Clemons, Sukay, Bostick, etc.

His rating on Scout is as the top DE out Pennsyalvania, but (roughly) the 8th ranked prospect in the State.
On Rivals he shows as the only Pennsyalvania player in their national Top 100 prospects - so it is likely the Gainesville piece leans on the Rivals rating.

Those last two updates seem kind of conflicting.......unless of course he's confident enough in his abilites to beat out all those DL Penn State took last year.

The logic Bob L. uses in the scout article is kind of odd... It seems he is saying that because a lot of young guys play that he can see the field early, not about the number of guys they have in front of him... That argument is flawed because of how many guys they have there...
