Helwagen feels that Belton will get an offer after signing day. I do know he was at the majority of the OSU games this year. He has a lot of potential.
I like Helwagen but I would have to disagree with him. I think Belton is pretty good but I don't think he is a signing day offer especially when it appears we are in good shape with Smith. I wouldn't be too disappointed with Belton but after watching him about 3 times(2 were 7 on 7's) he is good but I would take Smith in a heartbeat before Belton.
Have you ever seen Smith play in person? Or have you just seen his highlight reels? Just wondering
NORTHMONT (D-I)
Coach: Jim Brown
2004-05 record: 8-5, 14-9
Key returners: Sr. 6-3 G Danny Gudorf; 6-0 sr. G Justin Watkins; sr. 6-1 G Kyle Dicke; jr. 6-6 F-C Clay Belton; jr. 6-7 C Shannon Baccus; so. 6-7 C Andrew Parrish.
Summary: Things are looking up at Northmont with three regulars either 6-6 or 6-7 and a fourth 6-7 player on the bench. That size should help T-Bolts compete with Trotwood for West title. "I've never had this kind of size, not in high school," Brown said. "I knew we'd be tall. But we've got a long way to go." Getting varsity time is needed with only Gudorf, Belton and Parrish seeing much varsity action last season.
