Duane Long calls him the best defensive line prospect in the state regardless of class. Also a talented basketball player.

Ben's a beast, no doubt. Saw him play a couple of games last year including the regular season finale against Colerain. Held his own as a Sophomore against a very good Colerain offensive line. Ben's going to be a very good player.

Thanks for the update H&G.

Sounds like Ben is going to be a great one if he was holding his own against Colerain last year.

the fact that hes a frequent visitor to ohio state games has to put us in the driver seat, whenever we are up against notre dame for a recruit though it has to worry you. ive read that charlie weis will put on a super bowl ring during a visit and ask him questions like, "wanna play in the league someday?"

i would love to see this kid in scarlet n grey.

Tressel could do the same thing, but I doubt he ever would.

I hope to see Ben in the Scarlet and Grey and go on to be another great OSU NFL lineman!!!

Wouldn't call LaSalle dismal. They are just unlucky in the fact that they play in the GCL South.

Also, it always worries me when a Cincy kid from a Catholic school (I forget LaSalles exact affiliation...not sure it lines up with ND. Both Brothers of the something or other). Not sure if he is Catholic, but I know many of the people in those schools really push kids to Catholic Universities, especially ones that have the same affiliation. May not matter in this case. Just always worries me.

Greg Fry...St. Xavier High School...tOSU
Robbie Shoenhoft...St. Xavier High School..tOSU
Ryan Hamby...Archbishop Moeller High School..tOSU
Michael Munoz....Archbishop Moeller High School...Tennessee
Bradley Glathaar....Archbishop Elder High School....Cincinnati

These are just a tiny FEW noteable football players from the GCL that did NOT go to Catholic universities.

Ben Marin is a flat out stud...he's going to play on Sundays in six or so years...he's a MUST get for the Buckeyes, IMO....

and, no, LaSalle is not dismal...just their coaching staff...ask Tyler Sheehan about that...:roll2:

Ya, I wasn't there this year, but my boys from Elder and Moeller who were there told me that they had their QB still throwing the ball late in the game with a big lead and that's how the kid got hurt.

Go Bucks!!! In Tress We Trust.
