told ya he preferred DE.
I watched him play LB yesterday (I know...this is not recruiting info, but I think its important to note) and he just does not look comfortable playing the position. His first steps were backwards and stiff and he looked like he was thinking instead of reacting and not playing agressivley because of it...Ben is a DE and a damn good one. ND has told him they wish to move him to LB and I know for a fact this is weighing in his decision.

hh, don't ever think twice about giving updates on how recruits are doing whether it is recruiting related or not, i'm sure everyone is interested in the kind of players these guys are

Thought Ben's comments were more positive than that...

Know you can't post premium info, but personally, reading it, I came away feel pretty good about our chances with Ben.
He seems to like the coaches, players and Columbus in general.
I don't know if we would be considered the favorites, because anyone new can come along, but it's pretty clear to me that we at least have a good shot along with ND.
Just feel the statements by Ben are good reasons for optimism at this point.

Talked to my source last night...
he said if vegas took bets, he'd lay money on Ben and OSU...kind of a detailed conversation that involves a lot of info that I would never be able to verify unless I were a fly on a wall in the ND coaches offices, but it comes back to Ben really not liking the LB position...I think, but I am not 100%, that LaSalle's LB coach is an ND grad...Could be more to this story that won't come out until after Ben commits. I'll keep you posted as I get more info or verrification.

Thanks H&G! In the end, I just think Martin relates more to Tress and Co than he does Weis and Co.

I could not agree more! I think in the end, that Ben can identify with "Tress and Co." alot more than "Weis and Co." will mean the differenceHotMic said:

Ben says he hasn't set up any official visits yet but they will be later or after his season. He's looking at Notre Dame, Ohio State, Florida and Tennessee.
