'07 OH DE Ben Martin (Tennessee signee)

there are a chosen few that regularly help put me in my place gracefully during a debate (grad, coachbt on GBW, etc). I appreciate his input, but imo Duane is not one of those (I believe he wants to see Terwilliger line up at DE).

It may still prove ignorant to have said he will be playing on sundays in 'three years' :p

There are plenty of folks besides DL saying the exact same thing tho...that was my point.

Keep in mind, we do have Wilson, Worthington, Williams, Rose, Barrow and Gholston who all have 3-4 years left, if I am not mistaken. We have ubelieveble depth at DE. Now, some may move inside (like Rose) but also may stay outside.

Yeah, I think it is just the fact that he is the top player in the state and top 10 in the country and it would hurt to lose him.

We also have Dublin coming in this year too.

I am not saying if he leaves, then "oh well." But it is not life or death if he does not come to Columbus. We all want the top players to come here, and I was just pointing out that it is nice that it is a position od depth for us.

I know, I was just merely quoting your post b/c you had the depth chart on there, and I was goign to add Dublin and just point out that it would sting to lose a kid of his caliber.

like all buckeye fans I hope we get him but, if we don't I'll be ok about it with all those young great players we have just like a few other posters did.
If we lose him its to joke a dame not the scummies and thats a win right there

I know we all want to keep the top 10 of ohio to ohio state but, if we bat 60% i'm happy because, all those rANkings to me are a joke. We could get a group of people on BP to start one and I would believe that 100% more then the stuff I use to read.
iTS JUST MY OPION AND IT STILL MAKES ME SICK THAT BB HAS A COMMERCIAL WHEN THEY SUCK.

And by the way the sorry beacon journal finally reacted to my bad mouthing there newspaper. They said in the paper today that gentry had a head injury and of course I had to tell them how bad they suck

go buck:osu: and welcome to the Chris Wells coming out party

When many call him the best DE in Ohio they've seen, it will definitely hurt somewhat more than just losing another top recruit if Martin does decide to go elsewhere...especially on how we rely on our defense, we could really use a super DE. Fortunately there is still a lot of time between now and when he's expected to decide. Tressel has a very good track record of convincing top-flight Ohio talent to come to Columbus, so I think we're well in the hunt here.

That is usually true, but Coach Tressel will have a much more difficult time with Martin. He might be the #1 player in Ohio, but he's really an Indiana boy. He's only lived in Ohio for what, 3 or 4 years? I would feel much better about our chances if we were fighting ND for a born & raised Ohio boy that grew up watching and living OSU's tradition. Martin was born & raised watching and living ND's tradition, eventhough that included a couple butt kickings from OSU. But, I guess if anyone can change his mind, it will be Coach Tressel.

In my opinion, Martin is the most important recruit in this class. He will be a top 10, possibly top 5 player in the country and the top player in Ohio. To lose out on Martin to ND would definetly hurt, no matter how deep we are at DE. I see the point that we will be ok at DE without him, however, I would be very disappointed to miss out on Martin.
