'07 OH ATH Carlton Peake (Louisville signee, transfer to ???)

I agree. I like Arnold much better and like Gamble better as well. I didn't think of anything but OLB when I watched Peake's video.
I think what separates Peake from several other similar players (including Arnold, Gamble, Oliver, Saine, Clifford, Evege, Glover, Torrence, Mabin, etc.) is his size / frame / room to grow. With Saine and Oliver already in the fold, and with Clifford and Evege being a strong possibilities, I think that it will be tough to earn an offer in the "speed" category. Peake's size (6'2", 216) nearly pushes him into the "big speed" category, and hence makes it easier for him to earn an offer, IMHO.

Good point. If you break it down to the "big speed" category, he would be more likely to get an offer than all of those other guys in the "speed" category.

Couldnt of said it any better myself. Peake fits that category perfect and he may want to stay at safety, but I don't see anyway he does that with that frame of his.

He says he is up to 21 offers. He also states he is going to camp this weekend to prove that the staff should take two safetys in this class. Says he wouldnt be as high on us if the offer was for a linebacker position.

My take:

I think that if he is good enough this weekend the staff will tell him he can come in and try safety first, but they are going to eventually put him in the position that fits him best.

There is something seriously wrong if Peake doesnt get an offer, and doesnt end up at OSU. Hes a Buckeye lock if we offer, theres no doubt.

However he is hurting his chances of earning an offer by not keeping an open mind. If the staff thinks you will be a better linebacker than safety, then listen to the staff. They have put more NFL players than any college in the country recently, so why wouldnt you trust their judgement?
