'07 OH ATH Carlton Peake (Louisville signee, transfer to ???)

I'm really excited for MSU and Illinois to be getting such good recruiting classes. It will only make the BIG 10 stronger. I was a big CJ supporter hoping an OSU offer would come... but if not I'd rather see him go to a BIG 10 team (other than scUM) instead of Notre Lame or a Tennesse. (an overall perspective)

Interesting the dateline on the story is filed as 1/7, probably before the Petrino departure became known? So, would that not solidify Peake in the Badger column?

Who knows...there is more to a decision than just the head coach. Also, keep in mind that Louisville already has a replacement in mind.

I definitely don't want to lose out on C.J. He's a really impressive player on film. He may be staying open to Louisville due to the fact that his grades are very suspect, and Louisville has softer admission standards than Wisconsin. So I don't know if Petrino leaving would effect his decision or not. Also, if Wisconsin takes another safety in this class, it might make C.J. suspicious that the Badgers really see him as a linebacker, when he is dead set on playing safety. I think he is a linebacker personally. Wisconsin has taken 3 safety commits in this class (including Peake) and a preferred walk on (Wisconsin has had a walk on starting at safety pretty much continuously since the late 90's).

I agree about Peake being a lb down the road, and I think you guys if you can hold on to him got a real good one here...

Rivals $

2/6

From the Wisconsin site...the Badgers are still trying to get Peake. Both Wisconsin and Louisville are sending him LOIs and he will announce where he is going tomorrow.

The kid is genuinely torn...
