'07 MN LB Bryce McNaul (Northwestern Verbal)

I the fact that we are sending the most mail shows the amount of interest we are putting him to him.

Hopefully we invite him to a junior day soon.

That mail is most likely compliments of Doc Tressel, who has been doing some recruiting up there (James Laurinitis, Tommy Becker, Walker Ashley, ect). If my memory serves me right, he used to coach up there in Minnesota so he knows that area well

EDIT: My bad, JO! Didn't see that the first time. Right on

McNaul says Notre Dame is a school his family has liked for a long time. His father played at Cincinnati Moeller under Gerry Faust. McNaul says it would be a dream to play for ND. Notre Dame, Ohio State, Florida, Louisville, Michigan and Stanford are a few schools he is interested in.

IMO, every high school football drems of playing at a big college. When a player says he "dreamed of playing for so and so", you really have to take it with a grain of salt. Even when a player says he dreamed of playing for Ohio State, who wouldn't? I say that, not becuase I am a homer, but because we are a well-known, football university with a loads of tradtition behind us... just like the Notre Dames, scUMs, USC and Floridas of the world.

I didn't even grow up an ND fan...but if an ND site called me up at 16-17 years old and it was one of the first times I was doing an interview with any one of these sites, I would have been gushing about how great it would be to play at ND too. Keep in mind these are kids...not polished orators or politicians.

McNaul made a supposed surprise visit at Wisconsin juinor day last week (at least Wisconsin wasn't mentioned in the prior article). McNaul may go to high school in Minnesota, but he grew up in Wisconsin. That's a major power play for Wisconsin, and I have to think that's a disadvantage for Ohio State. The Gophers seem to have much less pull with players from Minnesota than the Badgers do with players from Wisconsin.
