From what I've read on other websites, Meyer said he was looking to bring in about 27 -- but they'd make room for more if necessary. ie: withdraw schollies to existing players. I don't know if this is a regular practice for Florida, but it seems to be for other SEC schools.

# of toal commitments in 4 and 5 year periods. (2002-2006) The first number represents the most # of recruits brought in during a 4-year period. The 2nd represents the number of recruits brought in for the 5 years (02-06)

Auburn: 107 132

Florida: 94 117

Ole Miss: 104 122

For comparison.... 4 and 5 year totals for some B10 schools.

Obviously attrition is a part of SEC life, and the numbers across the board would suggest by design. It takes 5 years for top B10 schools to offer the number of new schollies that takes just 4 years for SEC schools. Even if the SEC didn't redshirt a single kid, they'd have to drop 10-20 kids' scholarships a year.

I am very glad we got Jerimy Finch. He is a very unique case. First he commits to Michigan. Then he commits to Indiana. Then he starts liking Florida and we show some interest in him and offer without even seeing any tape on him. He is the #1 rated S on rivals. I'm happy we got him. He should help out immediately.

There are plenty of sites dedicated to Florida football and recruiting if you want to talk about which UF recruits you are glad you guys got...
