Still got plenty of time to go... no offense to union, but didnt u also predict Dionte Allen would switch to OSU in the rumor mill... and things have really cooled in that recruitment and there seems little chance he's goin to fulfill your prediction..

I love the insider info from the guys here, but not one prediction has been right this season... so I'll take this one with a grain of salt

I just looked back through that thread and I think the only thing UF only said with regards to Dionte was that he was privately talking to other schools and Taurian was trying to sell him on OSU. Nothing about him switching his commitment to OSU...

This could be either Major looking strongly at another school or could be a grades issue, so let's not panic just yet...

Not to digress from Major... but the prediction on Allen is in the "real recruiting tidbits"..

Gotcha...I was looking at the other one...well, like you alluded to, recruiting is fluid and things change with the wind.

If Florida pulls in Major Wright and gets Justin Trattou, it would pretty much disprove the conventional wisdom that winning a championship pays off for recruiting more in the following class than that current class. I'm not a recruiting whiner-and-complainer, but I don't think the Bucks capitalized in 2003 very well and I never believed the notion that winning the championship right before signing day was largely irrelevent to where uncommitted recruits go. Florida appears to be capitalizing like gang-busters.

That being said, I'm sure we've still got a shot at Wright. Unfortunately, he isn't a real big need position (DT).

A perfect storm: This is my theory on Florida and recruiting success. Florida usually gets their pick of players but add in a new coach at Miami and not a great couple of years and then throw in Florida State and the questions their with Bowden. Usually kids do prefer to stay close to home and with these options I believe Florida has more stability and a lot of momentum.

That's cool, its been a weird closing to the year. Lot of kids say one thing one day and do another the next day this year.

Florida always recruits extremely well, according to the recruiting services. Ohio St. barely having a top 15 class and Florida pulling in a top 5 class has little to do with the NC game, IMO.

Not entirely but look at the last couple of recruits they got. James Wilson decommitted from USC to Florida, Carlos Dunlap (5 star DE # 5 player in the country), and now are possibly getting Trattou to decommitt from ND, and Wright told the staff he would be a Buckeye, so in a sense they would be getting him to do the same. Not to mention Scott had 2nd thoughts (which is probably somewhat natural leaving home) about OSU after the game and Rolle looked ready to jump ship if UF offered after the game. Now is this all coincidence that it happened after the game? Possible...but not likely imo.
