...from the Iowa site... Has one visit left and is looking at Ohio State and USF.

We'll see how this plays out, but it looks as though he is listing interest in Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, Louisville, Ohio State and USF with offers from all except OSU. He's a new name and we'll see how it plays out. At once was committed to Nebraska, but has since reopened his recruitment.

To be honest the BPRT discussed this yesterday and decided not to start a thread on Patrick...at least not until we knew there to be a little more mutual interest.

NU loses another football recruit
BY STEVEN M. SIPPLE / Lincoln Journal Star

Nebraska has lost a second 2007 football recruit, apparently because of academic issues.

Two major recruiting Web sites ? Scout.com and Rivals.com ? have dropped defensive end Patrick Grant from Nebraska?s unofficial list of 2007 verbal commitments, citing academics as the reason.

A slightly taller version of Thad Gibson...but withe a larger frame and built more for DE. The fact that he is 6-foot-4 and still qualified for states in the 400 is impressive.

He is a speed rusher that is going to need some coaching in terms of holding outside position and not letting things get outside of him. He is explosive off the line and quick around the outside. At this point he is a straight speed rusher and will probably need a redshirt season...

I like this offer, and hope that we can pull him in and think it could mean the writing is on the wall with Still...

Thomas, Grant, and Heyward would make for a pretty good d-line class...
