Any inside info?

Does anyone have any inside info on McDaniel, or are we just going on heresay? This kid would be an amazing addition to this class. The fact that I haven't really seen any recent updates on this kid makes me a little skeptical.

I would not get your hopes up about McDaniel until you see something concrete posted...

ACC recruiting blitz....

Florida State is again finishing strong with just a week to go in recruiting. Just last week, the Seminoles landed commitments from four-star defensive ends Doug Thacker and Kevin McNeil. They followed that up with a good visit with Florida commitment Damon McDaniel. Word has it that the Seminoles are now the team to beat for the Rivals100 receiver.

FSU is not the right choice for Damon. Their offense will never be where it could be with Jeff Bowden and Drew Weatherford at the helm. They consistantly misuse their athletes on offense. Damon would also get pounded whenever he played UF. We all wanted Greg to come here as kind of a "spit in the face" at Michigan, but if he did he would have NEVER heard the end of it from players and fans there. Anyways, I WANT DAMON IN COLUMBUS!!!

Any ideas as to whether losing Josh Chichester might affect Damon's decision? What was looking like a very promising WR class has taken a bit of a down turn with matthews, bowman and lyons all going elsewhere, then losing Josh. Damon would be a wonderful pickup at this point imho...Not that he wouldn't have been a wonderful pickup earlier, just that there seems to be a bit more of a need now.

Believe it or not, but we are loaded at WR right now, and it's not a huge priority. Where I would love to have Damon come aboard (and undoubtedly the staff would too), our WR depth is probably the strongest on the team. I'm fine with bringing in someone like a Derrell Johnson and then bringing in 2-3 next year.

I would agree with you about the receiver position. Losing Holmes will sting because of his leadership but kids can't stay forever. With regard to this class, my only real complaint, we could use a few more lineman, especially interior lineman. Regardless of what people say about depth on the line, you never have enough because of the bumps, dings and bruises that cost them a few plays here and there or even a game or two along the way. With the skill positions, you can run away or throw away from them while they recover on the sideline but linemen are integral every play. However, it is only a small complaint because I think we will be good enough there and there are some great ones next year.

i would LOVE Damon to be part of this class. With all the WR's UF is taking this year and the depth they already have, I think he is seriously looking elsewhere. Unfortunately all signs point to Free Shoes if he does sign elsewhere. Hopefully Tress and the staff can pull a miracle, but with Bobby Bowden history of closing strong, I bet Damon ends up a seminole.
