'06 TX QB Sean Hakes (Akron signee; transfer to Orange Coast CC)

BG: Sean is aware of this, he attended the Western Michigan game this weekend and watched Anthony Turner and they have definitely fully explained there situation to him. He feels like he can come in and compete their as a Freshmen. I personally haven't heard much about Sheehan, don't know where he sizes up against the other Ohio QB's.

Ohio: This situation is weird because they weren't going to pick up a QB this year but after seeing Sean's senior film they felt he could make an impact his Freshmen year. And BTW Brad Bower is the 4th string QB here behind Everson (starter), Jones (Fr.), Petruziello (Fr.), then Bower (Jr). I know he's not eligible this year but on their list he's 4th still.

Sean doesn't shy away from competition, it's just not in his character. He is very confident in his talent and abilities. Oregon is considering picking up 3 QB's and that won't effect Sean's decision, he's gonna pick the best school for him regardless.

I'd love to see Hakes here at OU, we need a guy like him! Nothing against Everson, but his passing game... is, well, below par. I've heard nothing but good things about the Brad fellow, though.

Come on up Sean!

Great info!!!

I would love to have Sean come to my ol alma mater. Yeah the QB position has some depth but I am confident that Sean will move to the head of the class in no time down in Athens. I will have to share this with the Ohio University Board I post at.

this guy has a cannon and is pretty accurate. hopefully OU will get him. I would like to see the program build into a contender since I've had quite a few of my high school teammates play there, but I've not really followed the past year or so.

From left to right Demetrius Jones, Matt Stafford, Jevan Snead, Jeremy Ricker, Sean Hakes, Greg McElroy, Miles Schlichter (back turned), Kevin Riley, Alex Cate (bald), Zach Frazer, Josh Freeman. It was pretty cool to watch all these QB's compete with each other.

Rivals $

12/5/05

From Rivals.com...Sean says he went on his visit to Akron thinking he might commit to Bowling Green but now he is really considering Akron.

Maybe SHAKES can fill us in a little more...
