Stupid Question (well, ignorant question anyway):

What's the difference between an official visit and unofficial visit? I realize that official visits are limited, but are there additional benefits or perks allowed at these visits? Why not have a crap load of unofficial visits?

With Young coming in for an official visit now, I assume that means we're moving up in his world....

To get an official visit from this type of recruit this late in the game, says a lot about Matta and the staff.

We are competing against North Carolina (favorite), Duke, Uconn, Florida, Kentucky, Oklahoma just to name a few and he can only take 5 official visits, so I think Matta has made quite an impression on him in a very short period of time.

May 7-9 is the same weekend that Oden and Conley plus Cook on an unofficial and maybe Lighty will visit.

On a side note.....Oden and Conley will not be playing in the AAU tournament scheduled for Columbus in May. :(

Matta has made quite a push with some of the national prospects, especially with Young. To get an official visit at this stage with the schools that he is listing, should tell you something about Matta's recruiting ability.

From the Memphis site (I didn't even know they had a site)...the article talks a bit about Young and his AAU team. Recruiting isn't a big priority for Young right now, although it does mention that he and Oden are to visit OSU the first weekend in May. Academics will be a big part of Young's decision.

Its hard to say at this point. A few things need to happen for OSU to have a shot....we need to make an impression during his visit and impress him with our academics and basketball program.

In my opinion, he is a longshot but anything is possible when you get a kid on campus.

Thaddeus Young visiting UNC?

I am a student at UNC chapel Hill and I heard thaddeus young is visiting here soon. Does anyone know when he is visiting? I am a hardcore buckeyes fan (from columbus), despite going to unc, and i want Young to go to OSU. So, i want to see him on campus and give him some advice....hehe
