Not listed officially as being interested in OSU, however Matta has reportedly been working on him and Conley was recruiting him hard as an opponent in the AAU tourney. Conley is largely thought to be headed to OSU and Oden calling them his #1 only boosts the interest for Young to hop on board.

This information was provided from a reliable poster on the wake board, who thinks that Young could be legitimately interested with the momentum OSU has built up.

Kyle Lamb has said that Young is a legitimate possibility for OSU (tho NC leads). He is an agile, strong, big man that can really stroke it from outside but also bang with the big boys inside. Young was doing a lot of talking with Cook and Conley this weekend apparently (which confirms the wake forest insider information).

Mitchell Road High School (Memphis, TN)

Ht: 6-8
Wt: 200

Rivals.com ranks him as the #2 Small Forward and #7 prospect for the 2007 class. Talented wing athlete has size and skill package. Can sometimes get ahead of himself but he's growing into an elite player. Pumps in perimeter shots and explodes to the rim. Big timer. JR AAU team finished second at AAU National Championship. Spent most of his summer in the classroom. 4.0+ GPA and a dedicated student. SOPH One of the elite underclassmen in Memphis. Scored 35 and had 18 rebounds in one standout game. He's an outside-inside prospect with feel, talent and athleticism. Will spend a good part of the summer of 2004 working in the classroom in the northeast.

Has a long list of schools, that include.....Alabama, Arkansas, Cincy, Connecticut, Duke, Florida, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, LSU, Memphis, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Syracuse, Tennessee and Texas. Holds offers from the majority of the schools listed.

Recently showed some interest in OSU.

Real Deal: Thaddeus Young
By Dave Telep National Recruiting Director

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Everybody wants to know the same thing? What’s going on with Thaddeus Young? Well, we went right to the source (and then a step further) to find out the skinny.

Thad sports a whopping 4.3 GPA with honors classes and also cracked the Scout.com Top 10 at No. 7. Young hopes to narrow down his list and decide by the end of summer. He is wide open at this point.
So, who’s in the mix? Everyone’s hesitant to say but Kentucky, Memphis, Tennessee, Arkansas, North Carolina, UAB, Connecticut, Ohio State and Illinois are worth mentioning.

Heard we may be bringing him in as a Jawad Williams-esque WF, in which he would play the typical 4 position, but on the wing a lot, leaving Oden to bang it out down low. Putting a team of Conley, Cook, Lighty, Young, Oden on the floor at once? Wow. Give them 2 years and that's a championship team. They may have the growing pains that the UNC Big 3 had of McCants, Felton and May.... but putting 5 guys of their caliber on the court together would be tremendous.

Bucknuts44820, does the possibility of playing in a starting lineup of Five star players make us second to UNC?
OSU2006......Obviously, their is competition at every top school, so I don't think this plays a factor. A bigger factor is wanting to play with other top players and coming in together and playing right away. At Ohio State he would have that chance.

He will be visiting with Conley and Oden the weekend of may 7th-9th.

Cook might also be there along with Lighty.
Its my understanding that this will most likely be an unofficial visit. Huge just to get him on campus this late in the ballgame in my opinion.
