'06 PA DB Darrin Walls (Notre Dame signee)

Scout $

3/22--Dave Biddle

tOSU is still in Darrin's top 5 but they are not his favorites. He lists ND and Michigan as his favorites. Walls said it is safe to say that tOSU is a longshot, but he is considering them due to the school's success with DBs.

Dave Biddle says Walls is improbable at best.

No. It did mention he will consider the opportunity for immediate playing time at each school.
If he is good as he says he is, what does a depth chart mean?

I find it funny that in one paragraph he says he doesnt have any weaknesses and that he is "excellent" and in another paragraph he mentions says that tOSU got Jamario ONeal and he will have to take a look at that.

However, if a depth chart at corner is a large part of the deciding factor, scUM and ND will probably stay at the top of his list.

After reading most of his articles, I think he is already signed/sealed/delivered to scUM.

here's to hoping the domers pick this guy off if we cannot. I won't stand for any of these DBs over 5'10" becoming corners at UM... we want to pick on harrison for years

Walls Up to 16 Offers
By Mike Frank
Date: Apr 4, 2005

Woodland Hills high school in Pittsburgh, Pa. has long produced top athletes for DI coaches. This year’s top Woodland Hills prospect is cornerback Darrin Walls. Walls possesses the rare combination of height (6-1) and speed that all college coaches covet, and with 16 offers, Walls will have plenty of schools to choose from.

Darren is up to 16 offers, he enjoyed his visit to Penn State and now is considering Notre Dame.

From the PSU site...his visit to PSU was better than he expected. The offers he is considering the most right now are from Florida, Georgia, Notre Dame, Michigan, Pitt, Penn State, Louisville, Maryland, Ohio State and Virginia. He and Wes Lyons are going to fly down to Florida and check out UF and Miami.

Sweet Sixteen

The word is out; the “Keystone State” is loaded this year. Defensive backfield is arguably the thinnest of what is a very deep crop of talent. The top prospect will likely be Pittsburgh (Pa.) Woodland Hills corner back Darrin Walls.

Walls recently picked up offers from Maryland, Kansas, Georgia, West Virginia and Florida. He has been looking at Florida and Notre Dame more since they have extended offers. Walls plans on heading to one or two college camps, but hasn't decided on which ones.

Darrin has compiled offers from Akron, Boston College, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Kansas, Louisville, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Tennessee and West Virginia. He lists Notre Dame, Michigan, Florida, West Virginia and Pittsburgh as his favorites. There was no mention of tOSU in this article.

Unless something drastic happens, Darrin seems to have closed the book on tOSU.
