Interview with Chichester's coach. His coach implies that tOSU has backed off of Chichester due to academic concerns. Obviously, tOSU can't comment until NLOI day. Coach does mention that Josh visited Louisville and enjoyed his visit, he may visit two other unnamed schools this weekend.

Josh Chichester, 6-8, of Lakota West in West Chester, who committed to Ohio State in July, is looking elsewhere after picking up the vibe that the Buckeyes have lost interest in him.

"He was never offered an official visit (by OSU) and we’re not holding any scholarship papers," Lakota West coach Larry Cox said, "so my advice to him was to look out for himself and open it back up."

Asked if academics were an issue, Cox said, "That could be a cause for concern, but we’re one of the top academic institutions in southwest Ohio, and we feel like he’d be fine (at Ohio State)."

Chichester took an official visit to Louisville earlier this week and is expected to visit Akron this weekend.
Cox said it was unlikely Chichester would end up at OSU.

why does it always seem we lose a recruit or two in the last week before signing day to academics. Three years ago it was Dareus Hiley, two years ago Dajuan Morgan and Miles Williams, last year Freddie Lenix, and now Chichester and maybe more. If academics were that much of a problem you think it would be taken care before the last week till NLOID.

Hiley signed, enrolled, then got booted. Better to weed them out before NLOID, even at the last minute, then to give them a scholarship and then lose them anyway.
