Josh Chichester, 6-8, of Lakota West in West Chester, who committed to Ohio State in July, is looking elsewhere after picking up the vibe that the Buckeyes have lost interest in him.
"He was never offered an official visit (by OSU) and we’re not holding any scholarship papers," Lakota West coach Larry Cox said, "so my advice to him was to look out for himself and open it back up."
Asked if academics were an issue, Cox said, "That could be a cause for concern, but we’re one of the top academic institutions in southwest Ohio, and we feel like he’d be fine (at Ohio State)."
Chichester took an official visit to Louisville earlier this week and is expected to visit Akron this weekend.
Cox said it was unlikely Chichester would end up at OSU.
That's because you're only hearing one side of the story.
True. I'm still holding out hope that it can be worked out before it's too late........:(
any chance Josh enrolls in a JC or goes prep school route with the hopes of enrolling at tOSU next year. Or will he simply gain admission at another D1 school now?

has Matta voiced any reaction or opinion to Chicester possibly not coming to OSU?
Just because I'm wondering, does Matta have to wait until after bball NLOID, or could he comment after the football NLOID?bucknuts44820 said:No and they are prohibited from speaking about prospects until after NLOI day and then I doubt JT or Matta will comment on the situation.
Hiley signed, enrolled, then got booted. Better to weed them out before NLOID, even at the last minute, then to give them a scholarship and then lose them anyway.why does it always seem we lose a recruit or two in the last week before signing day to academics. Three years ago it was Dareus Hiley, two years ago Dajuan Morgan and Miles Williams, last year Freddie Lenix, and now Chichester and maybe more. If academics were that much of a problem you think it would be taken care before the last week till NLOID.
