'06 OH WR Josh Chichester (Louisville signee)

I have a D1 OT in my room every day who did the same thing and now he has to go to JUCO because his 3 point whatever hit the floor after he slacked off.

I have the same scenario in my classroom. A DI basketball talent who will be going the JUCO route because of a lack of academic focus. I hope Josh can get his academics straightened out and find success in the future.

well that confirms what i had heard..i guess that opens up a spot
or gives osu another to bank..too bad
Well I don't believe we can go that far, quite yet. To qualify for admission to Ohio State the criteria are clear. Josh earlier had the GPA needed for smooth sailing (3.2). Getting back in line before August '05 is not outside the realm of possibility.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the sliding scale regarding ACT scores and gpa. If he obtained a ACT score that was okay for a 3.2 but not a 3.0 or lower, could this be the problem. So he could potentially still be eligible to play basketball and carry a good GPA, but his test score wouldn't be sufficient for college sports.

...The Cumulative GPA hurdle for Lakota Athletic participation sounds shockingly low at 1.0, but realistically it would impossible to get passing grades in the solids and only a 1.0 GPA.

Not sure about that:

Core class #1: D (1.00)
Core class #2: D (1.00)
Core class #3: D (1.00)
Core class #4: D (1.00)
Elective Class: F (0.00)

Cumulative GPA: 0.8

On the other hand we have seen other previously committed players - especially early commits -- take one or two last visits to shore up their decision making process in recent weeks. Some do change their mind - some do not.

This may be one of those situations - rather than a fleeing to another port of call.

I would certainly hope so...
