'06 OH WR Josh Chichester (Louisville signee)

I think he either stays at WR or ends up as a kind of flex-type TE.

My hope is that he puts on about 20 pounds and stays at WR. I would hate to see his ability to cause match-up problems not be used at a hybrid TE/WR.

I would much rather see him line up on a 6' corner and go to work. Retaining his speed while putting on weight is the main concern.

I have seen Josh play many times, both on the basketball court and football field. I just don't see him adding enough weight to play TE. He has a very lanky, athletic build. I think he stays at WR and becomes a big-time redzone threat. He's a very athletic kid, and I think putting a lot of weight (He'd need at least 35 lbs to play TE, maybe more) would take away a lot of his athleticism.

I could care less about jump balls...I want a kid who can sit down in front of the DB either in the middle of the field or on by the hashs and use his body and size to get us 6 yards when we need 5...a guy who can adjust to a ball thrown high because of a blitz or an early release. those are the kind of scenarios where I see Josh being a threat.

We should learn from our Roy Hall experience. He has all the physical tools to be this bigolethreat, but he hasn't been used in aforementioned fades nor has he been sitting in front of DBs.

I dont doubt that Chichester will be a good one, but I don't think he'll be used a lot of the ways that the folks here seem to think he'll be.

ill put money down that chichester never becomes a TE. the kid is too slim and is too tall to be a more effective blocker than our other TE options in the future. even if he does add weight he doesnt seem like an extremely strong player yet. once he hits the weight room i think he will become a quicker, bigger, and much stronger player on the field and on the court. i look for him to be the same kind of player hardy is over at indiana.

...or the 6'10" guy over at Purdue!

P.S.- I don't think Roy Hall and Josh Chichester are all that comparable, Oneshot. Those are 2 COMPLETELY different types of receivers. One is possession (hands, height), the other is physical (strong, able to break tackles after catch).

yea i agree. i wish we would use roy hall as a posession guy more often though because he is one large and strong human being. he had a good showing in the texas game and was never really used after that. i guess we will see a lot more of hall next year though. im eager to see. he looks like a much bigger david boston(when he was at osu).

I agree. I can't see him gaining enough weight and being an effective of enough of a blocker to becom a TE. Would much rather have him as a WR.
