Latest thinking by OSU insiders is he will go to TE!
When I said this at the beginning I was generally not believed.

And that is still speculation and still open to debate. The fact is that there is no definitive answer as to whether or not he moves to TE at this point. Granted if Miller and Ballard slide down to the line, then that would leave Chichester as a prime target to move to TE. But no one knows for sure if that will happen...what if he has trouble putting on weight? What if they decide to use him like Roy Hall, who we all thought would move to TE too? What is Josh has trouble picking up the blocking schemes? There are any number of reasons why Josh could spend four years at OSU as a possession-type WR...

I know who you are talking about and I have to disagree with them at this point. I really do not believe that Chichester will be able to gain the needed weight to compete at TE. Either way, I think its a little early to try to predict where he will end up, but personally I would like to see him stay at receiver.

I totally agree with you here, he has played WR and right now he isnt even close to being strong and big enough to block lineman and linebackers. If he is outside he can use his ability to out jump smaller dbs and his bball skills to be able to fight for postion when the ball is in the air. If he gets up to around 230 and keeps his speed he will be an All American WR. I don't know why people always try to switch these kids to another position.

Now if he was able to put on about 40-50 lbs. then we could talk TE but until then we have a stud WR on our hands.

exactly...Ballard is already almost 260 and to add another 25-30 pounds would be a lot easier for someone with that kind of frame as opposed to a kid who is 6-8 205 and would need to add somewhere around 40-50 pounds to play TE in the Big 10. I think he either stays at WR or ends up as a kind of flex-type TE.
