Weight: 215 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.85 seconds
GPA: 2.6

Nate Davis, Bellaire: The 6-2, 210-pound junior quarterback and three-sport standout (all-state in BBall and FBall and a very good Baseball player) can run and has passed for over 1,725 yards and 16 TDs in the regular season and passed for another 236 yds and 3 TD's in his first round playoff victory this past Saturday.

All the Big Ten schools are interested including tOSU.

There seems to be four pretty good in-state QB's in '06- Hartline, Schlichter, Kirbus (St. Iggy) and Davis. Plus we are in on a few out of staters including Tebow (Florida), maybe Sean Hakes (Tex) and a few of the PA kids like Jeremy Ricker and Pat Devlin.

Gary H. watched Davis play vs. Martins Ferry this weekend...was very impressed. Said the kid threw the ball effortlessly from his own 22 to the opposite 20...overthrew the receiver but still impressive.

Kid is convinced he is going to play basketball in college though...but Duane said he may end up a Top 10 prospect next year

BGriff, I'm partial to my old stomping grounds, but Bellaire HS has one of the best team websites I've seen. Bellaire always plays home games on saturday afternoons at Nelson Field...I can remember being sore as heck on saturday morning, but riding up the river to watch my BHS friends play. Great school and great tradition.

Oh yeah, I was blown away by their athletics site... very nice. Anyways, I can totally see another Smith/Zwick/Boeckman trio of QBs on our hands if we can bring in Davis (the athletic QB), Schoenhoft (Zwick or Boeckman-type... tall drop-back-style QB) and then one of the many other QBs to choose from in 2006 (Hakes, the in-staters, etc.) to complete the triple-threat. If Schoenhoft grey-shirts (which is what the staff said would be in his best interests) and then we get 2 more to come in and red-shirt... hand the reigns over to Boeckman for a few years and let him guide us to a few stellar seasons... and then let the other 3 stud QBs battle it out after Boeckman goes pro. Ahhhhh, the opportunites this may present :). (Sorry if I rambled a bit)

Its possible, but I see him looking for Matta more than JT. However, if he gets some serious love, things may change in his mind. He is an excellent baseball player as well.

Grades need to be straightened out before tOSU can take any further steps with Nate.

Jose is the better football player.

Nate is the better basketball player.

I think Nate will end up on the hardwood rather than the gridiron.

Speaking of websites, check out rollredroll.com sometime, it's the home of my alma mater, Steubenville High School.

I go to school across the road from Bellaire and Nate is an exceptional athlete. He is a better basketball player in my opinion. I have also played against him in baseball and he is good at that too. As stated above he has a cannon for an arm, however he could use a little more accuracy. Grades might be an issue for him. I wish Nate luck but I see him going the basketball way.

Davis was in attendance for Junior Day. He got to speak with the football and basketball coaches. It would be ideal for him to play both sports in college. Davis threw for 200 yards and 26 touchdowns as a junior. He is hearing from Alabama, OSU, West Virginia, and Toledo. W.Virginia has told Nate that he is their #1 recruitng target. Davis was told OSU was looking hard at 3 QB prospects, himself, Hartline and, Schlichter. Nate has a 2.8 gpa.
