Brother inspires Ball State star to excel at QB

Friday, October 12, 2007Elton Alexander

Nate Davis has always wanted to walk in the quarterback footsteps of his older brother. Jose never wanted to walk the path of a quarterback at all.
"I always wanted to be a wide receiver," Jose said. "But I was the oldest, and never had anybody to throw me the ball."
And that is the genesis of what is fast becoming the next great Mid-American Conference quarterback story.

Under The Radar Stars
Nate Davis, QB | So., Ball State
After starting seven games as a true freshman in 2006, Davis has really come into his own in his first full season as Ball State's No. 1 signal caller. The sophomore boasts a 21-to-4 touchdown-to-interception ratio, having thrown at least one touchdown pass every game.

Looking back through this thread, I can remember how much I would have liked Nate to be a Buckeye now. There were also some other guys on the list (Hakes-Akron, Schlichter-Ashland, Hartline-Kentucky, Kirbus-?, Weber-Minnesota) that were hot prospects for us all too. Good to see Nate is doing well for himself at BSU.
