Cody will likely be a top-10 player in Ohio next year. He was able to make five interceptions even though opponents threw only 137 passes against his team all year. Cody is a teammate of 2005 Notre Dame verbal DB David Bruton. Cody favors Ohio State.

Blevins Takes Tour Across The Midwest
By Steve Helwagen Managing Editor
Date: Apr 6, 2005

Miamisburg, Ohio, defensive back Cody Blevins toured seven Midwest schools in a nine-day period. We get his impressions on each of those stops, including a brief stay at Ohio State last week.
Blevins is considered as one of Ohio’s top 30 prospects. Splitting time between safety and cornerback, this rangy player had five interceptions for a 5-5 team as a junior. That total gave him 18 picks for his varsity career.

During the past week he has visited Bowling Green, Illinois, Eastern Michigan, Inidana, Miami (OH), Cincinnati and Ohio State. At this point he does not hold any offers.

He enjoyed his visit to practice at Ohio State, calling them one of the hardest working teams he has seen. OSU told him they are interested and they would be at his school in May.

His current top five as Ohio State, Notre Dame, Bowling Green, Louisville and Purdue. He holds a 3.3 GPA

The kid is definitely a gamer. I mean, 18 picks for his High School career so far with still another year to go. That is just disgusting.

Also I remember Duane Long saying last year that David Bruton (ND signee) was the better athlete of the two, but that Cody Blevins was the better football player.

If Cody reads this I wish you all the luck in the world and I hope you tear it up at OSU camp in June and get that offer.

Man, nothing would be better than to see a kid from my
hometown/high school alma mater don the Scarlet & Gray.

Does anyone know which OSU coach recruits the Dayton area? Just wanna know who is expected to stop in and see Cody at my alma mater in May.

I think Fickell spends alot of time in the SW.

I have tried to get ahold of the Burg's coach a few times so that I can make contact with Blevins, but to no avail... I will keep trying though.

I'll let Coach Lewis know you're trying to reach him, if I see him around town.
Miamisburg was on Spring Break last week, so I'm sure you'll have better luck this week.

Coach Lewis is a great guy. Never misses an opprotunity to help current and former players alike.

As we continue our countdown of the Ohio High top 100 as ranked by Duane Long, we enter into players 21-30. Here is where we will start to get into this year's crop of fine quarterbacks, and a couple of excellent running backs and defendive backs also are listed here. Click the link to take a look.

Cody is ranked as the #27 prospect in Ohio. Has 18 career INTs.

Cody's been playing both ways this year basically every play, at reciever, safety and some on special teams. Through 2 games he has about 5 or 6 catches for about 110-120 yards or somewhere in that region, with 2 receiving TD's (1 in each game) with a long of 78 yards where he out-jumped the defender and ran about 60 yards after the catch. On defense he hasn't been tested all year. Also he's 1-1 passing on the year on a fake punt for about 25 yards.

Miamisburg (1-2) vs. Greenville (3-0) Who will win? Vote!

When: 7:30 p.m. today

Where: Greenville Stadium

2004 result: Did not play.

Outlook: Greenville enters as one of just two undefeated teams (Springboro) in the MML's North Division. The next few weeks will tell how long they remain that way. After Miamisburg, the Green Wave hit the road against Monroe (3-0) and Lebanon (2-1). Miamisburg, whose last two games have been decided by a total of three points, doesn't get a break either. The Vikings are at Carroll (2-1), host Springboro (3-0) then travel to Northmont (2-1) in non-league action after tonight. Miamisburg yields a whopping 348 yards defensively, last in the MML. The key to slowing down Greenville's running attack is Daniel Fee (132 yards per game, 5 TDs overall), but Luke Rosengarten averages 8.0 yards per carry and has a pair of TDs. Miamisburg has seen good balance from Dante Robinson (70 yards per game, 1 TD) and Gabe Debrill (60 yards, 2 TDs). Give the edge in the passing game to 'Burg. Cody Blevins (6 catches, 144 yards, 2 TDs), Trevor Harrigan (4-117), Justin McCartney (5-74) have as many catches at Greenville's top two receivers in Fee (4-47) and Bruce Henegan (2-48). Wave kicker Laine Wagner has hit all 10 extra points and is 2 of 3 on field goals.
