Troutman said location was a big part of his decision. He was also considering Ohio State.
"It was just closer," he said of PSU's University Park campus.
Troutman is a product of Pembertown Township High in Pemberton, N.J. He made an official visit to Penn State Dec. 12, checked out Maryland Jan. 13 and Ohio State Jan. 6.
After visiting Maryland, he said Ohio State and Penn State were he co-leaders.
Where will he play for the Lions? "I'm pretty sure I'm going to be a defensive end," he reported.
