'06 MD LB Akeem Hebron (Georgia signee)

I like his slender build. I also like the fact that he is only going to be a senior next year, so there is really no pressing need for Ohio State to play him (or Homan or Gibson or whoever) right away. He'll be able to build himself up (if he's ours) while Freeman and Lukens man the outside (or any of the bevy of others).

I like the fact that we have been in on this kid for awhile. He really fits the mold that we need to recruit this year at OLB. I noticed all the offers we have extended here are to guys that possess great speed. I also like the fact that we are starting to put up some offer numbers at OLB. It is vital we land at least 2 more this year imo. I hope we are off to a head start with offers out to Ball, Gibson, Hebron, and Hunter....

Now back to Akeem!

From the Maryland site...Hebron and teammates Drew Gloster and Anthony Davis are all major D1 recruits. Hebron is up over double digit offers with his latest one coming from Michigan. He was considered by most to be the best defensive player in the state of Maryland last year.

Akeem has picked up an offer from Nebraska. He benches 280 pounds, squats 440 pounds and power cleans 282 pounds while maintaining his 4.4 40-yard dash. Maryland was a childhood favorite but the numerous offers have Akeem's interest.

Hebron will be a three-year starter at outside linebacker, and a year ago he finished with 110 tackles, 11 sacks and two interceptions. Akeem has already taken unofficial visits to Penn State and North Carolina and he hopes to visit Georgia, Virginia Tech, LSU and Oklahoma in the summer.

His top four schools are Georgia, Virginia Tech, LSU and Oklahoma.
