'06 KY MLB/DT Micah Johnson (Kentucky signee)

BN $

Micah has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Louisville, Kentucky, Ohio State, Tennessee, USC, Michigan, Notre Dame, Clemson, Virginia and Maryland. He has very high interest in tOSU but he will more than likely wait for a late decision. He is being scouted as a linebacker first, but some schools are offering a chance at FB. He will do a full one-day camp tour. Currently Micah is 6'2, 270 and is consistently running 4.9 and can do 30 reps at 185 on the bench.

Birng him in as an ATH... LB/DL/FB... he can be a great punishing FB!!! And the High interest is always stellar. Do what you can to reel him in Tress... he is going to be one heck of a stud at the next level.

The article mentions that he does not max out on the bench. This type of program leaves a very high ceiling for Micah. He could easily throw on a solid 20 lbs just by being involved in the S&C program in college. Another 20 lbs leads to the DL...Micah may have dreams of being a bruising FB or an OLB, but in reality, he is looking like a DL all the way.

But what if we just enhanced his agility and maybe he lost a few pounds, but kept his strength. If we strike out on Moline, I haven't heard of/seen any other FB's listed yet, but we have plenty of LB's (OLB and MLB) that are interested in us.

6'2, 270 and a 4.9...

That is a tall FB even if the weight is dropped maybe 20 lbs...Dionte Johnson is a 4.6 and Moline is a 4.6-4.7. Both play around 235-240 although Moline is 6'1 to Johnson's 5'11.

Anyway, no need to hijack Micah's thread...he will play on the next level. We'll all have to wait and see at which position

guys - his update on BN is actually very positive for the Bucks, he says that he has a "very high interest in Ohio State".......he's spoke with all the coaches and is very impressed with Tressel.........also, coincidentally he has struck up a relationship with Chris Sanders (former OSU receiver), since he spoke at their school.........he also says his options are wide open and he'll play out the process

also FWIW, i would think with that offer list he is a surefire top 100 guy, if not top 50

Everything I'm reading here sounds great. I hope the high interest in OSU continues and we can just blow him away with an official visit if we get one. The thing that I really like hearing is the visit from Chris Sanders to his school. I hope that this type of thing happens more than we hear about because it seems like it can only help tOSU.

Carp. is playing at 260 at LB; I know he is much faster but this kid is a bull and could lose a little and play LB. He may be too short with reach and height to play DE but Freeney was a beast outside as well...I know Freeney was fast as well.

This is the type of kid that could play a lot of positions.

That's what I said in the film evaluation blog...I would want someone taller to play DE, which is why I could see him playing DT. It is much easier to add weight and improve your other measurables when you get to college. Staying at the same weight, or even slimming up to get faster is much tougher.

He's listed as an inside linebacker and defensive end, and many schools have offered and are recruiting him as such. He did rack up 173 tackles, three sacks and an interception as a junior on defense. He can run the football, too. In just six games last season, Johnson rushed for 1,249 yards on 121 carries (10.3 avg.) and 17 touchdowns. That's averaging more than 200 yards per game.

Several schools are recruiting him, Auburn, Ohio State, Michigan State, Louisville and Kentucky have all expressed interest in Johnson as a running back.
