Jamil Tucker, a 6-8 forward from Gary, Ind., played with varied success during the Nike All-America Camp at IUPUI. Playing for Team Wake Forest, Tucker faded in and out of play for much of Saturday's games.
"I've been average," Tucker said. "I haven't played my best game or best effort yet. I don't think I hurt myself, but I don't think I helped myself."
Tucker is being recruited many Big Ten schools, including Indiana, Michigan State and Ohio State. The Gary West High School star favors the Buckeyes and sounded ready to commit earlier in the camp and join Lawrence North duo
Greg Oden and
Mike Conley in Columbus in 2006.
"I have to wait to find out what (Ohio State) is going to do," he said. "I'm going to call on Monday to find out if they're going to offer."
Tucker, ranked by rivals.com as the 45th-best prospect in the nation for 2006, hasn't ruled out playing his college hoops in Bloomington. However, if
Mike Davis doesn't retain his job following next season, the Hoosiers will slip down the slender forward's list.
There had been talk of Tucker possibly looking at Purdue, but he said Boilermakers coach
Matt Painter hasn't been in contact with him.
