Weight: 170 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.55 seconds

Squat max: 345 pounds
2004 stats: 42 receptions, 1,016 yards, 14 TD's

Chris is a teammate of current Buckeye verbal QB Antonio Henton. Chris has interest in Auburn, South Carolina, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, and Southern Cal (all offered except Southern Cal), with Auburn and South Carolina being his leaders.

Chris speaks very highly of Ohio State; he would even pretend he was Ohio State when he played backyard football as a child. Chris seems very interested in the Buckeyes, especially since Henton's commitment.

I think we should go after this kid hard... after watching hentons videos Slaughter made some unreal fade route type of catches over smaller DB's. Good Size and good speed for a reciever too, and you can't underestimate chemistry between recievers/Quarterbacks either and it looks like they have that down pat.

I hope we go after him hard! GO BUCKS!

Peach Co. Team Vids

got these from bucknuts and think grad posted a link in the Henton thread, anyway in case you haven't seen them they are free highlight videos of the whole team. #12 Slaughter has some very nice grabs.

In case people are wondering about rankings

Someone supposedly from his school who originally posted the free vids on Bucknuts thinks he is going South Carolina to play for Spurrier.

Without checking the #'s, we may have more offers out in Georgia than we do in Ohio :wink2: ...the coaches have really targetted Georgia and Maryland this year...Slaughter has very good size and speed, it would be nice to snag 2 studs from GA

From all accounts, Slaughter is a stud. I haven't seen him play in football, but I saw him play basketball when he was a sophmore and he could be a mid-major hoops prospect. I'll see him and Antonio play this year in October. Peach County is a very good team and the Fort Valley-Perry-Warner Robins areas is one of the best in the country for football. Offering Henton will help the Buckeye's chances, but this kid will have offers from all the powers in the SE and it will be tough to get him to Columbus.

But Tressel is doing the right thing by offering these Georgia kids. Team wise, Ohio and Georgia are pretty similar. But prospect wise, Georgia is easily twice as deep when it comes to big-time D1 caliber players.

It'll take a while to build a prescence in Georgia, but when I talk to a lot of the local kids and tell them I'm an OSU fan, most of them seem intrigued. OSU gets some respect down here and if the staff keeps working this area, expect to see a lot of Georgians in Columbus.

With a base of 10-12 Ohio kids, 2-3 Florida kids, 2-3 Georgia kids and 2-3 kids from other areas a year, OSU can compete for a national championship every year.

I'll give you a prime example of a program that has made a living off of Georgia kids, look at Louisville. They have been recruiting Georgia hard for the past decade. They went from being a mediocre CUSA program to the team to beat in the Big East.

EDIT: I won't attribut all of Louisville's success to recruting Georgia because they also hit Florida hard. But a comination of getting kids out of those two states has led them to being a top 10-20 team.
