'06 FL RB Kylan Robinson (Miami verbal)

No my friend...per today's (Sunday's) Sun Sentinel.

the only thing on their website about Kylan is this...

LINK

The Hurricanes have commitments from Immokalee running back Javarris James, the cousin of former UM standout Edgerrin James, Tennessee tailback Graig Cooper and Sarasota receiver Sam Shields, who visited this past weekend along with Tampa running back Kylan Robinson.

all this says is that he visited along with Shields, who is committed to Miami.

USC Still In Robinson's Top Three

By Conan Gasque
Tampa RB Kylan Robinson (6-1 215) visited Miami over the weekend, but he still has made no decision. Robinson said Sunday that his top three still include USCarolina, Ohio State and Miami, and that he will announce his decision Wednesday on Countdown to Signing Day. Robinson has visited all three, as well as UAB, but he said the Blazers are no longer on his list. He also said that he will make no more visits. Robinson said that he will evaluate the schools on their coaching staffs, how he fits in with the players, and academics.

Interesting story...Kylan's signing was delayed this morning because he is waiting on his mother to arrive from Alaska. Her flight was delayed because of a volcanic eruption. She did manage to catch a red-eye and is due to arrive in Tampa some time this morning.

Kylan Robinson's mother wants you to know three things:

1. ``He doesn't live in an igloo.''

2. ``He doesn't go to the store in a dogsled.''

3. ``He doesn't wear a parka year round.''

He's just your typical Alaskan kid who came more than 5,000 miles from Anchorage to play football at the University of Miami via Tampa for a year -- and was switched Tuesday from fullback/H-back to linebacker.

''Yes, I miss him,'' said his mother, Barbara Hord, who also grew up in Anchorage and works two jobs so her son can afford the $1,000 airline tickets back home. ``I'd love to be able to see him everyday, but that's not reality. He's growing up and he was going to leave sooner or later. He wanted to go to college and he wanted to play football.''

Robinson, 19, was approached Saturday night by UM coach Randy Shannon, who asked the 6-1, 215-pound redshirt freshman to make the switch to weak-side linebacker because the unit had been hit with injuries. Robinson said he played defensive end, tight end, wide receiver and safety in three years at East Anchorage High, before switching to running back at Tampa Chamberlain.
