Alabama Coach Mike Shula and Florida’s Urban Meyer will battle once again with the services of Tampa Middleton linebacker A.J. Jones on the line. Jones just returned from a visit to South Carolina, who closed the gap on the speedster. However, it doesn’t appear to be enough to sway him from the two schools that have earned his respect.

A.J. Jones profile)
“I had a real good time (at
South Carolina). I got to hang out with my former teammates O.J. (Murdock) and Stoney (Woodson),” Jones stated. “It definitely gives me something to think about. It was probably the most comfortable I’ve been because I knew those guys. They’re up there.”
Jones said that he enjoyed the opportunity to play in the CaliFlorida game a couple of weeks ago at Cal-State Fullerton.
“It was a good experience,” he recalled. “I got to hang out with (C.J.) Spiller a lot, and Tebow,
Dustin Doe, and Jarred (Fayson) I can always talk to. It was cold out there, but we were able to take care of business. I don’t think that anybody thought we’d win.”
He will not be in class on Monday due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. He expects a visitor or two on the holiday as well.
“Coach Meyer called me from Dustin Doe’s house and said that Dustin was asking about me,” he said. “Coach (Meyer) is coming down tomorrow with Coach Strong, I think. He is the only one that I’ve heard from. I’m not sure if the
Alabama coaches are coming down here or not. If they are, I haven’t heard from them.” Jones said that he has not made up mind yet and will decide after talking it over with his family. He will board a plane for Atlanta on Wednesday morning and make his announcement live on “Countdown to Signing Day”. “Of all the visits that I’ve taken,
Ohio State was the most fun that I had. It was just a lot of fun up there. I’m down to Alabama and
Florida really with South Carolina just back there. I like both of them (Alabama and Florida) and my Mom really likes Alabama a lot. We’re going to sit down and talk about it (as a family) and lay everything out there.”
