"We got to go to Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Bel Air, the beach," said Florida four-star linebacker A.J. Jones, when describing last weekend's USC trip. "I thought it was real cool, real nice. Definitely a beautiful place. I mean, if you think of California, that's exactly how it was..."

Linebacker A.J. Jones (6-2, 190, 4.55) from Tampa, Fla., names USC as his leader after an official visit on Nov. 5.
"Right now, they (USC) are number one," said Jones, of Middleton High School. "I have nothing to compare it to, so they are my top school right now.
"The visit was real nice. My host was Keith Rivers (linebacker from Florida). We got to know each other real well. We were tight.
"Chris Wells (running back) and Gerald McCoy (defensive line) were also there for an official visit. We got along. We were cool," Jones said.
"The highlight was the full pre-game experience," he expressed. "Doing the Trojan Walk into the stadium was something else! The fans were just crazy. It was great!"
He continued, "We got to hang out with the players and the coaches. We hung out with Coach (Pete) Carroll a lot, and Coach (Lane) Kiffin (offensive coordinator/recruiting coordinator), Coach (Rocky) Seto (linebackers) and Coach (Ken) Norton (linebackers).
"We got to go to Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Bel Air, the beach. I thought it was real cool, real nice. Definitely a beautiful place. I mean, if you think of California, that's exactly how it was.
"It's a beautiful campus; real nice," he added.
"My father went. He thought it was a good trip. It was a long flight -- five hours -- but it was worth it. On the way back we stopped in Salt Lake City. It was cool seeing the mountains and the snow -- it was my first time seeing snow. I know for Chris (Wells), it was his first time seeing the ocean.
"As far as the distance from home, with me it might hurt a little bit (for USC's chances). I mean, I won't get to see a lot of people from home coming to my games, but I don't think I would mind. My dad was alright with it, but I don't know about my mom. She has her good weeks -- she's hard to read right now," Jones said.
Jones also is looking at Alabama, Florida, LSU and Ohio State (all offered).
"I will probably be scheduling a visit with Alabama when I talk to them this week, and I'm not sure about the others. I want to go to all of them and compare and put them in order once I have been to each one. I am probably going to the Alabama-LSU game on Saturday. They all like me at linebacker or wherever they may need me.
"Wherever I decide to go to school, I want to come out of my experience with a good education. One which, if I don't make the NFL, I can make a good life once I come out of the experience," he explained. Jones noted he will likely pursue a degree in business.
Middleton (7-3) travels to Seffner to play Armwood in a playoff game on Nov. 11. Jones is unaware of his season stats, but reports 40 tackles and two sacks in the last three games. 3.0 GPA/18 ACT/940 SAT (old scale)

Good he talked with Wells. Maybe our assistant recruiter was at work.
He is a stud, a real game changer. Some say he will move to safety, but I think he stays at LB. He is one of those Miami type LB. Tons of speed, nasty attitude and big hit ability. Some lucky team will be getting a great LB come signing day![]()
