If Whitner and AY stay, I dont think we will drop off that much, not enough to to cost us games at least.
Plus, a great D-line makes a great linebackers, and we have some good ones on the line.

27 is right...it all rests on the defense. I'd put us in the top 5, no higher than #3. If Vince Young comes back, Texas is the clear #1...after that, it's a crapshoot as to the order you rack and stack teams. Then again, pre-season rankings are always a crapshoot.

Five years ago I'd say 'cool'. Now I know better ... I soooo don't want to be ESPN's 'program'.

There is never anywhere to go but down. Here's hoping for a quiet, hypeless football offseason. No SI covers. No ESPN the Magazine covers.

Just start gameplanning for the Longhorns.

exactly. we are top 5, but not the #1 team.....especially if VY comes back (which I don't think he will).

WVU should be top 10, prior to their bowl game I would say Miami. ND will be up there. Penn State will but shouldn't be. I wonder if Michigan makes their annual top 5 appearance :biggrin:
