'05 PA RB/DB Justin King (Penn State signee)

Call me crazy...but I don't recall Justin King shutting Ginn down. I remember a torrential downpour of a game, where offenses were stymied moreso by weather than by individual play.

You're memories are obviously faulty...just over to BWI to get "educated"...be sure to ask for Carol.

"He turned Ohio State wideout Ted Ginn Jr. into a non-factor." :shake:
Love it how pro State Penn media spin things!
Rainy, windy day stopped both offenses.
Ginn was not stopped by the best CBs in college football including the Thorpe winner.
King is not going to win the Thorpe Award.

Wouldn't be the first time a PSU player won an award he didn't deserve.

lol...I know one thing for sure, Justin King is certainly no Leon Hall.

I think even in Cincinnati, Leon is still biting on Troy Smith's disgusting play action fake where Ginn scored on the 39 yard touchdown (where he lined up as a TE) in last year's Game.

The NFL advisory committee tells him he could be a 2nd or 3rd round pick and he jumps at the chance. My how the mighty have fallen.

It is decisions like this that make you grateful for players like Jenkins who return despite, barring injury or a MAJOR disappointment at the NFL combine, being a lock to be a top 10-15 pick in this year's draft.

You also gotta consider our Juniors looking at another potential MNC run and PSU being, well, PSU.

I can't understand why some of these guys leave early...some leave early and don't even get drafted. If you're guranteed an early 1st round pick I could possibly see it (though I'm glad our guys are back) but even Pittman was told late 1st and he went 4th or 5th, then Youboty was told first and was taken in the 3rd. Some guys were leaving that you know are going to be second day picks.

God... Brian Robiskie seriously made Justin King his red-headed step child this year.

I actually felt like our staff was picking on JK. Anyone else get that vibe? We were throwing at him ALL NIGHT.

James Hardy abused King too. Seems like King struggles with big receivers, especially in soft zone like PSU used a lot against OSU. I'd pick on him if I had a 6'4 WR or whatever Robiskie is and PSU was using soft zone with a 143 lbs corner.

He'll be a nice 4th-5th round pick for somebody, making the NFL minimum... IF he makes the team. He's gonna have to learn a lot on the fly against more 6'3"-6'5" receivers than he saw in college.

King was one of the few juniors I scratched my head and went "Huh?"

There's no way he goes 4th-5th. 3rd at worst. Sure, he struggles in zone and needs to bulk up a lot, but he's a good man coverage corner who will time in the 4.3s at the Combine.
