Daniels was supposed to visit Oklahoma for their final home game against Nebraska on Nov. 12, but says that something went haywire “with the weather, or a ticket problem, or something like that” forcing him to stay in Columbus.

“with the weather, or a ticket problem, or something like that” forcing him to stay in Columbus.
nice work by the people at Port Columbus...there should be a "slight malfunction" or "engine trouble" or a "ticket problem" or something of that nature every time Alex tries to get on a plane to go visit Oklahoma. you all have one job...keep him on the ground so we can keep him in Columbus!

Alex Daniels and Brookhaven beat Dayton Carroll 39-3 last night, to advance to the Division II State Final. Brookhaven is now 14-0. No C-bus city league team has ever won the state title.

They will be playing Avon Lake (Trey Stross), also unbeaten, in the Final.

Congrats and good luck to Alex and his teammates.

Daniels Focused On Championship
By Duane Long
Date: Dec 2, 2004

Alex Daniels of Columbus Brookhaven is a highly sought-after recruit, but while most players across the country are starting to get into the visit process, Daniels is still going with his season and is focused on that. Duane Long caught up with Daniels for some quick words on recruiting.

ATH Alex Daniels of Columbus Brookhaven is one of the most sought-after uncommitted Ohio seniors. Buckeye fans have him high on their wish list right now, but Daniels has more pressing matters than recruiting to worry about as his undefeated Brookhaven team takes on undefeated Avon Lake this weekend for the Division II Ohio football championship. Avon Lake is No. 1 in Ohio, while Brookhaven is No. 2.

Daniels is very focused on the game and wants a title in a big way.

"I never wanted anything any more in my life," Daniels said. "I'm ready to play right now. So are my teammates."

So, not surprisingly, Daniels is not worried about recruiting at this moment.

"It's just like the last time with recruiting," Daniels said. "I'm enjoying this (season) so much, I'm not really even thinking about recruiting. I've never been on a winner before. Never."

Daniels did offer up a couple of recruiting tidbits. He has three schools picked out for visits.

"I'm going to Minnesota next weekend, Oklahoma and Ohio State," Daniels said. "That's it right now."

Some have speculated that Daniels may be a lock for Oklahoma. Daniels is high on the Sooners, but he doesn't understand why people may be saying that he is a lock.

"Yeah, why is that?" Daniels said. "I like Oklahoma, so I say nice things about Oklahoma. If I was so sure about going to Oklahoma, why don't I just commit?"

Daniels (6-3, 225) has had a fine senior season, posting 75 tackles, 4-1/2 sacks, and 3 INTs (two returned for touchdowns).

Sounded pretty defensive about people calling him an Okie verbal. Through scarlet colored glasses, that sounds promising.

true, however, there is one important factor to note. This interview was done by Duane over at BN. Duane has been the only person stating that Alex is coming to OSU. That is based on his conversations with Daniels. Daniels tends to sing a different tune in all his other interviews.

Either way, the kid is hard to read.

Congrats to Alex and Brookhaven! They just won the Division II state title, finishing the season at 15-0. The first state title for a city league team.

They broke Avon Lake's (Trey Stross) 29 game winning streak.

Alex had a couple of TD's rushing and IMO was the best athlete on the field. He is 6-4 230 and just did a back flip at the end of the game celebration.

Avon Lake was ranked in the Super Prep rankings in the midwest at 10 I think. Brookhaven must have played really well.

As far as Daniels recruiting goes I believe he goes to OK, but I think there interest may have went down some this is why I see him visiting Minnesota.

I guess leave this here since most members could give a shit and buckskin already mentioned it. CONGRATULATIONS BEARCATS! I went there my freshman through junior years before getting shipped off to florida to get my shit together and was beaming with pride as they totally dominated avon lake and trey stross(the god damn army all american who is going to Iowa and took the spot of fellow ohioan Jamario O'Neal who should be representing Ohio and our Buckeyes instead of him). Tonight I go to bed a happy man!
