BPs 320/SQs 380/VJ 36

3.4/May SAT

top schools right now are Stanford, BC, Miami, tOSU, USC and VA Tech

Originally he wanted to go to scUM but they apparantly have turned him off because they offered another NJ LB instead of him.

He will visit tOSU this summer.

Cushing is up to 19 offers- he lists his current top 5 as FSU, Stanford, BC, Ohio State and USC. Pretty impressive for tOSU to make his top 5 since we haven't offered yet. Maybe an offer comes when he visits tOSU camp this summer??

the latest Insiders update reports that Cushing is up to 26 offers and was just offered by FSU and Cryami

He still states he will camp at BC and tOSU this summer- you have to assume he is a good candidate for an offer when he attends camp- tOSU has apparantly visited his school recently

It also does not appear he is camping at tOSU this summer. The article only mentioned BC- he was originally camping at BC and tOSU

maybe he didn't feel like he needed to prove himself to tOSU (considering 28 other schools didn't need that reaffirmation before they offered)???

Great news, 86!! This kid's numbers are unreal and his video is excellent. Nice to know we're still in the thick of things despite offering him a little later than a lot of schools. It will be interesting to see how well Hazell does in the east.

It appears that Cushing was on the same trip to VA with Monroe. They are now in his top 3 with Miami and USC. But he still plans on going to camp with tOSU.

While Virginia picked up a commitment from one of the top linemen in the country with Eugene Monroe, the Wahoos made a solid impression on carpool buddy Brian Cushing, one of the top linebackers in the country from Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic.
Brian Cushing

“It went real good,” says the 6-foot-3, 227 pounder who drove down to Virginia with Monroe. “I knew he was going to commit. He was talking about it for a while. He kept talking about players that get the feeling when they step on campus.”

As for Cushing, it was also a great feeling in Charlottesville.

“I went down there, and that was my second time. I loved it, I really did. I loved the coaches, the players, the facilities, everything.”

He says if any school is recruiting him the hardest, it is certainly Virginia.

“I get three or four things a day from them. That lets me know they really want me to play for them, and that is very important to me.”

Does that mean they are a favorite right now?

“I think that too. I’d have to say Virginia is in the top-3, if they are not number one.”

Certainly not bad company when the other two schools are Miami and USC. Unlike Monroe, Cushing is not ready to make a decision.

“Right now, I have no idea. Like Eugene said, he got it out of the way and there is no pressure, but that does not mean much to me. I can handle the pressure.”

Just like he does on the football field.

As for the upcoming schedule, it is busy as should be expected for a national recruit.

“I am trying to get to (Boston College) sometime soon, probably for camp. I am going to Notre Dame and Ohio State on the same visit, and I will try to go to USC probably the first week in July.”
