'05 MD LB Rico McCoy (Tennessee signee)

Tennessee seems to be OSU's main competition and they have signed three
(1-3 star and 2-4 star) Linebackers in the last two years. Also with Mathis, David McDowell (Tenn is his #1 school), and Travis Beckum all on the list of potential Linebackers at Tennessee for '05, its looking pretty good for OSU.
Rico also stated "I've been to Michigan and I think they've got the best facilities from what I've seen." ... Well wait until he gets a look at OSU's facilities. They are some of the very best in the U.S., or anywhere for that matter. I can't wait until his visit on 12/3. I do wish he'd come to see a game though.
Rivals has Ohio State rated as having "high" interest for Rico too. Looking great !!!

Add to that sour statements coming from a tsun site and I don't think OSU has any worries about him going to tsun:

"I never thought he'd be in this class but hopefully now he'll be a Buckeye so we can smash his face in 4 times." <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :) -->

Great motivation for Rico to come to OSU and bash some MXchigan arse in the next four years!!!!

If he's not interested in taking all 5 visits he must have a pretty good idea where he wants to go. Considering the Buckeye have been at or near the top for a while you have to think we're in pretty good shape. He has been worried about the ESPN allegations but Schoenhoft has been talking to him and may visit when Rico takes his official to Columbus.

Rivals has a list of visitors for the scUM game and McCoy isn't on it but I'm not sure if he's coming or not. I should also mention his team's season is over so it would be great if he could make it up for the game, even if it's an unofficial visit.

Rico, if you saw the Ohio State vs. M!ch!g*an game today, you saw what could be your future. You could be the next guy to make those devastating hits like Bobby Carpenter did at the end of the game. You could be on a team that will compete each and every year for the Big Ten title and more. You won't find any fans more faithful and loud that will cheer you on each and every play of the game. I sure hope you saw the game and sign with Ohio State. We'd love to have you join the Buckeye family!!!

Rivals Premium

McCoy is visiting Ohio State on December 3rd, Miami on December 17th and Tennessee on December 10th. Tennessee and the Buckeyes lead. Rico is worried about possible sanctions against Ohio State but says "They’ve been real nice to me and I’m going to stick with them.”

hmm, the article says he's been talking to fulmer a lot, and that people have been telling him osu might get sanctions. not hard to put 2 and 2 together there.

fulmer has always been a greaseball. the culmination of which came when he ratted out bama when UT was facing their own sanctions for the tee martin incident. ut's problems magically went away after he narc'd.

once mccoy is reassured by the coaches that no sanctions are coming, and its reaffirmed by some of our current commits, he will be fine.
