I like this kid a lot. We have been working on him. I think he goes to Miami, if the give him a serious offer, which they haven't yet.

i can promise you he wont go to miami. even if they gave him a serious offer, which according to him and the recruiting services they have, he lost interest in him a long time ago.

I'm pretty sure I saw that exact quote today from HH on a Bucknuts thread discussing Hodge, not McCoy, and it made sense in that regard. He "works on" Fla. kids. Perhaps he made a mistake with his post here.
He was talking about Hodge not McCoy

Re: This just in.... <hr size="1"> Hodge cancelled his visit to NC State last week.

He will be visiting Iowa this weekend.

His brother has gotten a quote (his estimated value, should he decide to come out). He orginally wanted to come out, but based on the value, he will probably stay.

Playing on a team with his Brother is not at all that import to him.

Right now, it is down to OSU and Iowa. I fully expect him to be a Buckeye. IMO, if Miami stepped up and offered, he would go there, but they are set at the LB position for this year. So, unless he is "convinced" to go to Iowa, I think OSU is in good shape. </td></tr></tbody> </table>

There is a Rico McCoy bio on this page done by Mr. LemonHead I believe, but he sounds even better after this bio.

http://www.goarmy.com/events/aab/aab_this_years_player_bio.jsp?firstname=Melvin&lastname=Alaeze

You have to find his picture and click on it. There are also bios on Mo Wells, Gwaltney and Boon.

Here is one quote from what was said:

"Wait till you get a load of this young man on film. He's a holy terror who proves to be one of the most physical, hard-hitting ball players ever to come out of the D.C. area."

I can't wait for him to come here and shine. I believe he will fit right in with his physical style of play.

McCoy says he is done with his visits and will choose either Ohio State or Tennessee. "At first after the O-state visit, they were leading, but now I don’t know Tennessee was just as nice.”

Three Buckeye assistants are scheduled for an in home visit and a Tennessee coach has a visit scheduled as well. He might make his decision soon but will wait to announce until the AA game. McCoy said he and Mathis may go to the same school but nothing is set in stone.

It may be mentioned elsewhere in this thread, but in the last two years Tenn has recruited 4 LBs who were rated top 15 nationally. OSU has landed one.

Hopefully Rico isn't buying it when Phat Phil tells him they are all being moved to TE.

I definetly did not want to read that tonight.

It really sounds as if FAT Phil and tennecheat put on quite a show to even the odds in the recruitment of McCoy. Hopefully Mathis' decision to favor the vols won't become a factor in where McCoy decides to commit to in the weeks to come.

Does anyone know what was said in the UT Rivals Update.

Ok now for my take on the whole thing.

Ashley, Rico, Mathis, and Worthington really hit it off when visiting here.

Here is what was said in the updates afterwards.

Yeah I had fun,” McCoy said. “I definitely enjoyed myself. Me and Doug (Worthington) and Andre (Mathis) and Walker Ashley had a ball I think.

It's about pretty even," Mathis said of the two schools. "They were very similar. I liked them both."

"But one particular person stood out more than others. On his visits to Ohio State and Tennessee, Mathis found himself hanging out with another recruit quite often.

"The recruit, Rico McCoy," Mathis said. "I got to know him pretty well, and talked to him a lot on my visits."

McCoy, another one of the best linebackers in the country from Washington D.C., also plans to choose from a couple of the same schools. Mathis shed some light.

"He said it would come down to Tennessee and Ohio State," Mathis recalled. "It would be fun to play alongside him."

Mathis said he was going to probably talk to McCoy one more time before making his decision this week. He said McCoy could have an impact on his decision.

"Most definitely," Mathis acknowledged. "I want to talk to him to see what he thinks.""

(Ashley)“Specifically, I got in good with Doug Worthington, Rico McCoy and Andre Mathis,” he said. “The four of us really hit it off pretty well. They were pretty cool.”

Ashley had visited USC Oct. 23 and had considered the Trojans No. 1 on his list. But he said, “I liked Ohio State better.”

Ok so all of them said they hit it off besides Mathis. But Mathis said that he would like to play with Rico.

It seems Ashley is wanting to speed up the recruiting b/c he sees our class filling fast, so I think he is a buck soon.

I think that when Mathis talks to Rico that Rico will either talk sense him to him or he will go alone with no Rico and Rico will come here.

So if Mathis, McCoy, and Ashley talk and see that Ashley is coming here and Rico is coming here then Mathis comes here to.

My prediction is:

Mathis: UT, He decides that all in all he doesn't want to play with them and wants to go play for the slimeballs.

Rico: tOSU, been ours all along. Hell he already refers to us as O-state, and he has posted on bn.

Ashley: been ours all along and he will soon be verbaling to our bucks, as he sees the class filling fastly.

So all in all Ashley and Rico join our fantastic recruiting class.

Just one other thing about UT:

"Banks is the fourth of seven Parade All-Americans from the Class of 2002 that are no longer a part of the team. The others are Heath Benedict, Brandon Jeffries and Jonathan Mapu, who is in the middle of a two-year Mormon mission. The remaining Parade All-Americans from that class are Gerald Riggs Jr., James Wilhoit and Rob Smith. "

This from an article where Banks and another player were kicked off the team.

Doesn't seem like greeseball fulmer has control of his kids down there.
