Tiller doesn't seem to fond of Mr. Lymon after reading that article. It sounds like he hasn't made a lot of wise decisions, but after allegedly being attacked, you'd think that Tiller would try to be a little more pc about one of his own players.

Speaking for the first time since he suffered a stab wound to his chest, Purdue football standout Selwyn Lymon said he feels 100 percent four months after an incident outside a West Lafayette nightclub. The stabbing left the 6-foot-4 Lymon in the hospital for four days and forced the Fort Wayne native to miss the team's spring practice sessions.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The Tippecanoe County prosecutor's office filed charges Thursday against a Purdue University wide receiver in connection with a March fight in which he was stabbed.

Selwyn Lymon, 20, Fort Wayne, is charged with operating a vehicle while being intoxicated, battery, disorderly conduct, false informing and illegal possession of alcohol.
Tippecanoe County prosecutor Pat Harrington said that charges will not be filed against the woman who stabbed Lymon because police believe she acted in self-defense. Her identity has not been released.

I really wonder sometimes. We seem to be so lucky in "missing" on recruits that go on to ruin their careers by bonehead moves, such as Lyman. We as fans want these kids bad during the recruiting season, yet they go elsewhere. I wonder if maybe they try to verbal to Ohio State, but the coaches don't accept it after doing background checks, etc.?

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Purdue wide receiver Selwyn Lymon was dismissed from the team Tuesday after being charged with drunken driving for the second time this year.

"Selwyn is the victim of making some very poor choices, and, in addition to dealing with the legal ramifications of those poor choices, he no longer will be a part of the football program at Purdue," coach Joe Tiller said in a statement. (cont'd)

Lymon sentenced to house arrest
Former Purdue WR has filed for early entry into draft

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) -- Former Purdue wide receiver Selwyn Lymon pleaded guilty Friday to charges stemming from a fight outside a nightclub and a drunken driving arrest.

A Tippecanoe Superior Court judge suspended a one-year prison sentence and ordered Lymon to spend 90 days on house arrest and 15 months on probation. Lymon was given credit for 66 days served.

"I'm very disappointed in myself for what I did," Lymon told Judge Michael Morrissey. "I apologize to the court."

Coach Joe Tiller dismissed Lymon from the team in November, two days after police arrested Lymon on the drunken driving charge hours after Purdue's season-ending loss to Indiana. Police said he had a blood-alcohol content of 0.15 percent, nearly double the state's legal limit for driving.
