One of the top quarterbacks in the 2005 recruiting class will be a young quarterback from Delaware. He also will probably be one of the top recruits in the New England States and also one of the best in the East.
Gene DelleDonne (6-5, 225, 4.81) is a strong-armed field general from Wilmington Salesianum and he has some great quarterback skills and abilities. His best quarterback skill is his strong arm.
As a junior in only nine games, DelleDonne completed 130 passes out of 222 attempts for 1,755-yards and 14 touchdowns. He only had 5 interceptions and he also had many dropped passes, but he still was very accurate as his completion record was a very good 59%. He also averaged 195-yards per game.
He is still 16-years of age and will play his entire senior season as a young 17-year old. He is a member of the National Honor Society as he carries a great 3.65 GPA in college prep courses.
