'05 CA OL Kevin Bemoll (California signee)

I just clicked on the rivals ticker to see what updates were listed. There was the headline that Bemoll was close to commiting to OSU. A couple of spots above that was an update on Doering.

Doering is still listing us in his top 6. Add Doering and Ronnie Wilson to the mix, and you have an OL class for the ages.

Who could not love Bemoll on top of Boone and Cordle ? (in a recruiting sense) . Those 3 alone would make it a succesful o-line recruiting season.
Any other additions would be icing on the cake.

If Bemoll thought the place was awesome when empty, he might want to pack extra shorts for his first trip to a full 'Shoe!!

There is video of Bemoll now up over at The Insiders. I still can't get my damn media player to work. Anyone want to give a summary on how he looks?
All they did is post one of Sanchez's videos so all you get is pass blocking. I've rewatched the four videos of Sanchez that Insiders has to see Beemoll and was impressed.

Someone made a good point on BN that I hadn't really thought much about regarding Bemoll's blocking. Many lineman (Datish for example) come to the college game lacking pass blocking technique due to poor coaching or the offensive system their high school ran. Bemoll pass protection is very good and he never gets off his man. If he can run block as well as he does for the pass, we could have a very good one on our way.

Most top-notch California o-linemen are probably better pass blockers than those from Ohio, simply because California HS's throw the ball a lot more. California is almost always the #1 state for producing QBs and a big part of that is the offensive systems of the schools out there-they pass a lot, which is not necessarily the case w/ most Ohio schools.

Bemoll seems like a lock at this point, I just wish he'd pull the trigger and clear this up so MS can feel like he'd have 2 great friends at tOSU with him.

I love the fact he pass blocks so well, I don't want to give JT any excuses to not throw the ball more. If we can get a great pass blocking OL and an accurate QB, we can finally get a balanced Offense.

I love this quote from Bemoll in the BN article about the 02 fiesta bowl

“I was joking around with Ryan. We were watching that national championship game. For some reason, it means a lot to me that Ohio State stuck it out and beat them.

It's the "them" thing that all but signs the deal for me.

IMO, Bemoll won't pull the trigger yet for a few reasons:

1. He wants to create some suspense, so that his decision is newsworthy;

2. He is still trying to "sell" Sanchez, maybe with hopes of announcing together; and

3. He doesn't want to upstage his 5* QB (remember, they are good friends) by announcing before Mark.

Just some thoughts on the subject....

Anyone want to give a summary on how he looks?
In short, Bemoll looks very good. He has good feet, and is a physical blocker. All of the plays were passes, but judging by the way the he locked up his man, I would say that he would be a good run blocker as well. He played LT, and had no problems protecting his QB; in college (especially at OSU, where Boone is the future LT), he would likely be RT or maybe a guard. Bemoll definitely desrves his high ratings.
